Essex County Council

(Footpath 39, Myland) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close to all pedestrians footpath 39, Myland in the City of Colchester, from its junction with footpath 38, northwest for approximately 315 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 09 February 2025 to 09 August 2025 where necessary due to works taking place and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst construction works are undertaken.

Alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on the 09 February 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.

(Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.45) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the order below under S1(1), 2(1) (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53, and 63A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the said Act.

To Implement:

No Waiting & Loading Mon-Fri 8.30am-9.30am and 2.30pm-3.30pm

Restrictions:

    • Both Sides from its junction with School Road eastwards for approximately 57 metres.

  • No Waiting & Loading Mon-Fri 8.30am-9.30am and 2.30pm-3.30pm

Description:

    • East Side From a point in line with the southern kerb line of Pine Way, Elmstead south to the southern kerb line of Pine Way, approximately 17 metres.

(Various Roads, Brightlingsea) (20mph Zone) Order 202

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 84(1) and (2), and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

To Implement:

A 20mph Zone in Great Bentley in the District of Tendring.

Road Descriptions:

    • Brian House Court – From its junction with Stephens Drive, West for its entire length.

    • Chapman Close – From its junction with Keats Crescent, West for its entire length, including any turning heads.

    • Keats Crescent – From its junction with Robinson Road, South-West for its entire length, including any turning heads.

    • Middleton Mews – From its junction with Keats Crescent, West for its entire length.

    • Pannell Place – From its junction with Middleton Mews, South for its entire length.

Puffin Crossing – A133 Colchester Road, Elmstead

Under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), Essex County Council proposes to establish a Puffin Crossing on the A133 Colchester Road, Elmstead, in the District of Tendring located as follows:

To Implement:

A Puffin Crossing.

Description:

    • The Centre Line of the crossing is located approximately 34 metres west of the junction with Oaklands, Elmstead.

    • The width between stop lines is approximately 2.5 metres.

Zigzags for the Puffin Crossing will be installed on the A133 Colchester Road extending 175 metres either side of the crossing on both sides of the road.

(Dexter Avenue, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Cowdray Avenue, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Catchpool Road to its junction with Mason Road at a distance of approximately 285m (eastbound only).

2. To temporarily introduce a "No Waiting, No Loading & No Stopping" restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping at Any Time) (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction, and suspend any existing waiting and parking restrictions on the above length of road.

All other restrictions and elements contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 3 nights (20:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP210358452 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A133, A134, A133 (with access only into Cowdray Avenue).

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Green Lane, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Green Lane, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 70m south of its junction with Boxted Church Road for a distance of approximately 110m in a south-easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ501011098399A – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Boxted Church Road, Church Road, Wet Lane and vice versa (with access only into Green Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Harwich Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Harwich Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hawthorn Road Roundabout to its junction with St. Andrew’s Avenue at a distance of approximately 700m (northbound only).

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ501011098399A – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via A133, A132, A12, A14, A137 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Station Road, Alresford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Alresford in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 20m north of its junction with Pound Close for a distance of approximately 35m in a northerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th March 2025 for 1 night (00:01-08:00), or where stated on a valid permit (XJ700C-57-B-160325 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while rail, road, and vehicle access works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Station Road, St Osyth Road, Coach Road, Wivenhoe Road, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Trinity Street, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Sir Isaacs Walk, Colchester) (Temporary Suspension of One Way Restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Trinity Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Culver Street West to its junction with Sir Isaacs Walk a distance of approximately 125m.

2. To temporarily suspend the one-way restriction in Sir Isaacs Walk, Colchester as detailed in The Borough of Colchester (Culver Street West, Trinity Street and Sir Isaacs Walk, Colchester) (Traffic Regulation) Order 1996 for the duration of the closure.

The closure/suspension are scheduled to commence on 9th March 2025 for 53 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP230103312 – NMT Crane Hire Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while redevelopment works are undertaken by NMT Crane Hire Ltd.

An alternative route is available via North Hill, Middleborough, Middleborough Roundabout, Westway, Balkerne Hill Roundabout, Southway, Eastbound Headgate, and continue along Culver Street West, Sir Isaacs Walk.

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway), (High Street/Middleborough and North Hill, Colchester) (Temporary Suspension of Bus Way) & (Severalls Lane, Colchester) (Temporary Introduction of Banned Turn) Order (No.7) 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily suspend the bus way in that length of High Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction with Queen Street, west for a distance of 50 metres as detailed in "The Essex County Council (Head Street, High Street, North Hill & Middleborough, Colchester) (Experimental Bus Lane) Order 2013." All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

3. To temporarily suspend the bus way in that length of Middleborough, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction with North Hill, west for a distance of 47 metres as detailed in "The Essex County Council (Head Street, High Street, North Hill & Middleborough, Colchester) (Experimental Bus Lane) Order 2013." All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

4. To temporarily suspend the bus way in that length of North Hill, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction with St Peter’s Street to its junction with High Street as detailed in "The Essex County Council (Head Street, High Street, North Hill & Middleborough, Colchester) (Experimental Bus Lane) Order 2013." All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

5. To temporarily introduce a banned right-hand turn from Severalls Lane, Colchester into Ipswich Road, Colchester.

6. A temporary "No Waiting, No Loading & No Stopping" restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the above waiting restrictions will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping at Any Time) (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction, and suspend any existing waiting and parking restrictions on the above length of road.

All other restrictions and elements contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 24th February 2025 for 37 days or where stated on a valid permit. The roads will be closed to vehicular traffic during the works and will be re-opened on a phased basis as soon as practicable.

Diversions: Diversion routes will be clearly signed, and access for pedestrians will be maintained. Bus operators have been notified of any accompanying missing signs or changes to services.
