A12 Trunk Road, Junction 16 - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Carriageway Resurfacing Works

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A12 Trunk Road in the County of Essex to enable nearby Local Authority carriageway resurfacing works at Stock Road Northern Roundabout and general routine maintenance to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place over approximately 4 nights (Mon-Fri, 9pm to 5am) starting on, or after, Monday 10 March 2025.

The effect of the Order would be to close, alternately, the A12 at Junction 16 Galleywood Interchange – northbound exit slip road – diverting traffic to continue northbound on the A12 to J17 then via the A12 southbound to J16, and southbound exit slip road – diverting traffic to continue southbound on the A12 to J15, then via the A12 northbound to J16 and continue their journey. Local diversion routes would be in place during the slip road closures.

The closures (which would not apply to works, winter maintenance or emergency services vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order would come into force on 3 March 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
