What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Jaywick Lane, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Jaywick Lane, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Bluehouse Avenue to its junction with Ormar Avenue a distance of approximately 75m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (A25011001389181 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via St Johns Road, St Johns Roundabout, London Road, Old Road, Wellesley Road, Wellesley Road Roundabout, Carnarvon Road, Anglefield, Marine Parade East, Marine Parade West, West Road and vice versa (with access only into Jaywick Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Telford Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Telford Road, Stephenson Road & Brunel Road, Clacton on Sea) (Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Telford Road, Clacton on Sea, in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Stephenson Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction.
  2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in that length of Telford Road, from Stephenson Road for a distance of approximately 50m (east from its junction) and 50m (west from its junction).
  3. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in that length of Stephenson Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Telford Road to its junction with Burrs Road north for a distance of approximately 80m, for the duration of the above closure only.
  4. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in that length of Brunel Road, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Wade Road to its junction with Telford Road for a distance of approximately 95m, for the duration of the above closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restrictions on the lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the Order shall remain unchanged.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th March 2025 for 37 days, or where stated on a valid permit (A25011001380426 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and displayed on one.network. The diversions/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Burrs Road, Scores Lane, Thorpe Road, Telford Road, Stephenson Road West, Stephenson Road East, Stephenson Road, Stephenson Road and vice versa (with access only into Telford Road).

The Order will come into effect on 20th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.5) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring affected by mains replacement works, which will be phased as required.
  2. A "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping" restriction will be introduced on sections of those roads to facilitate access where lengths are still open to traffic while the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

Consolidation Order 2019

The order will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 6th February 2025, exact dates will be specified on non-network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed in advance of each phase via leaflet/letter drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

(Tan Lane, Little Clacton)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

  • Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tan Lane, Little Clacton in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 155m north of its junction with Holland Road for a distance of approximately 140m in a north westerly direction.
  • The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th February 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PL1208711072203 - Openreach).
  • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on the network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
  • Alternative route:
    • Tan Lane, Harwich Road, The Street, London Road, Montana Roundabout, Centenary Way, Centenary Way Roundabout, Centenary Way, Thorpe Road Roundabout, Thorpe Road, Holland Road, Tan Lane and vice versa.

  • The Order came into effect on 6th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.

(The Crescent, Clacton on Sea)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

  • Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Crescent, Clacton on Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Burns Road to its junction with Conway Way a distance of approximately 45m.
  • The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th February 2025 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ501108136711 - Cadent).
  • The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on the network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
  • Alternative route:
    • Valley Road, The Avenue, The Drive, Burns Road and vice versa (with access only into The Crescent).

  • The Order came into effect on 6th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
