St Marys Way, Bacup Road and Haslingden Road - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Carriage Way Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ST MARYS WAY, BACUP ROAD AND HASLINGDEN ROAD, RAWTENSTALL, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH. (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. St Marys Way from its junction with Bacup Road to outside number 5 St Marys Way.
ii. Bacup Road from its junction with Haslingden Road to its junction with Longholme Road.
iii. Haslingden Road from its junction with St Marys Way to its junction with Queen Street.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 2200 hours until 0450 hours on Monday 24th February 2025 until Friday 28th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. St Marys Way - Newchurch Road - Church Street - Turnpike - Burnley Road East - Bacup Road
ii. Bacup Road - Newchurch Road - Church Street - Turnpike - Burnley Road East - Bacup Road – Bocholt Way – and vice versa
iii. Haslingden Road – Bocholt Way – Bacup Road – and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriage way resurfacing works to be carried out.
