TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 13/2/25 South Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- North Guards, Whitburn, from its junction with Mill Ln, in a westerly direction, for a distance of 30m.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, and in particular to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out gas replacement works. The Order will come into force on the 13/2/ 25. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18mths however it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed from 14/2/25 for 10 days. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the alternative route will be via North Guards, Lizard Ln, Hilltop Vw, Lizard Vw, Kitchener Rd, Mill Ln, Marsden Vw, Millfield Ter, Augusta Ter, Frederick Ter, Percy Ter, Hedworth Ter.
