What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
U9512 VARIOUS ROADS IN BLYTH
(TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the following sections of roads and footways in Blyth in the County of Northumberland.
Road Closures:
U9512 Ballast Hill from its junction with Quay Road heading northwest for a distance of 20 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 24th February 2025 until the 24th October 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th February 2026.
There is no diversion for vehicular traffic.
U9512 Quay Road from its junction with Bridge Street roundabout heading north for a distance of 80 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 24th February 2025 until the 24th October 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th February 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being Wellington Street East, Quayside.
U9512 Brewery Street from its junction with Sussex Street heading south for a distance of 35 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 19th May 2025 until the 19th November 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th February 2026.
There is no diversion route available for vehicular traffic.
U9512 Bridge Street Back Lane for its entire length for a distance of 30 metres.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 19th May 2025 until the 19th November 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th February 2026.
There is no diversion for vehicular traffic.
U9512 Sussex Street from its junction with Quay Road heading eastwards for a distance of 100 metres. It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 19th May 2025 until the 19th November 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th February 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being Wellington Street East, Quayside.
Footpath Closures:
U9512 Ballast Hill from its junction with Quay Road heading northwest for a distance of 20 metres.
U9512 Quay Road from its junction with Bridge Street roundabout heading north for a distance of 80 metres.
There is no alternative route for pedestrian traffic.
The Order is to be effective from the 24th February 2025 until the 24th February 2026
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closures have been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out carrriageway and footway improvements works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
