What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -

SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WEST STREET, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of West Street, Dunstable between Tring Road and Drovers Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable crossing amendments to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 12 March 2025.

The alternative route for this closure is via B4541, B4540, A5183 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(STATION ROAD, HARLINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Harlington outside Old Manor Farm, the junction of Station Road and Paxton Approach and near Park Leys Footway.

This temporary closure is required to enable cabling works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on

3 March 2025 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Church Road,

Barton Road, Goswell End Road, Westoning Road, Toddington Road, Harlington Road, Toddington Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WOODSIDE ROAD, WOODSIDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Woodside Road, Woodside at the bend.

This temporary closure is required to enable ditching and manhole cover installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from

3 to 5 March 2025 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Manor Road, Luton Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL –

NOTICE OF MAKING

BOROUGH ROAD, DUNSTABLE

REVOCATION OF WAITING RESTRICITONS On 4th February 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To revoke No Waiting at Any Time on the following

length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Borough Road, both sides, from a point approximately 15 metres from the centre of the junction with High Street South and extending in a northeasterly direction for a distance of approximately 25 metres.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places)

(Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.3) Order 2025” Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 19th February 2025.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 4th February 2025, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

On 4th February 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To replace payment via coin/s with cashless payments only at various locations as follows:-

•   Duncombe Drive, Leighton Buzzard

•   Matthew Street, Dunstable

•   St Marys Gate, Dunstable

•   Priory Gardens, Dunstable

•   Regent Street, Dunstable

•   Hockliffe Street, Leighton Buzzard

•   Grove Park, Dunstable (Including both Grove Bowling and Grove View Car Parks)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOUGHTON REGIS: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 16)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along that part of public Footpath No 16, Houghton Regis which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0062 2471 to OS GR TL 0070 2461.

This temporary closure is required to enable construction works to take place. The closure is expected to take place from 3 March to 2 June 2025.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be:

From (OS GR) TL 0062 2471 proceed in an easterly direction over the footbridge, then continue in a south south-easterly direction for approximately 129 metres to (OS GR) OS GR TL 0070 2461. Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2 The proposed Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
