What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Council made Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Boydell Ave, Grappenhall (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Boydell Ave from its jct. with Lindi Ave to its jct. with Shadowood Cres. The Order will be effective from 17th February 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day. The alternative route will be via Lindi Ave, Shadowood Cres & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach to install a new telecom pole.

East Ave, Stockton Heath (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on East Ave from its jct. with London Rd to its jct. with Arley Ave. The Order will be effective from 17th February 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day. The alternative route will be via London Rd, Sandy Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to rectify a defect following reinstatement.

Pool Ln, Lymm (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Pool Ln from its jct. with Brookside Ave to its jct. with Oldfield Rd. The Order will be effective from 17th February 2025. The closure is for a period of 3 days. The alternative route will be via Pool Ln, Warrington Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to install a new water connection.

Stockley Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2025

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Stockley Ln from its jct. with Northwich Rd to its jct. with the Borough Boundary with Cheshire West & Chester. The Order will be effective from 21st February 2025. The closure is for a period of 1 day. The alternative route will be via Birch Tree Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach access to underground apparatus.

The effect of which is to introduce the following: Prohibition of Driving & Clearway:

    • Beresford St

    • King George Cres

    • Elaine St

    • Fothergill St

Part lengths of road: Fairclough Ave north of property No. 1 to 69; Ford St from Fothergill St to Willis St; Sutton St north of property No. 2 to 58.

The Order will be effective from 3rd March 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 10 weeks, between 8:30am to 5:30pm. The alternative routes will be as follows:

    • Beresford St via King George Cres, Fairclough Ave & vice versa

    • Elaine St via Willis St & vice versa

    • King George Cres via Beresford St, King Edward St, Cornwall St & vice versa

    • Fothergill St via Marsh St, Marsh House Ln & vice versa

The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Weaste Ln from its jct. with Cliff Ln to its jct. with Camsley Ln. The Order will be effective from 17th February 2025. The closure is for a period of 5 days. The alternative route will be via Weaste Ln, Warrington Rd, Camsley Ln, Massey Brook Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Openreach to access underground apparatus.

Section 90A Highways Act 1980

Establishment of Road Humps – Winmarleigh Street & Side Road Junctions, Traffic Calming Scheme 2025

Notice is hereby given that Warrington Borough Council intends, as part of its traffic calming proposals, to install traffic calming features under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, with the effects detailed in the Schedule to this notice. Deposited documents may be viewed on-line at:

or Contact Warrington Borough Council, WA1 2NT between 9am & 5pm, Monday to Friday.

All representations in support of or objecting to the proposals must be in writing to the Council either by hand to Legal Services, East Annexe, Town Hall, Sankey St, Warrington, WA1 1UH, or via email contact details to TROrepresentations@warrington.gov.uk by 6th March 2025. All objections must include grounds for objection.

If objections remain unwithdrawn, a meeting of representatives may be considered in public by the Council & the substance of any representation together with the name & address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

Palmyra Square South

From its jct. with Winmarleigh St in a south easterly direction for approx. 7m. Raised Junction – full width, flat top road hump, 75mm high, 1:12 ramps.

Winmarleigh Street

Approx. 7m north west of its jct. with Museum St in a south easterly direction for approx. 20m. Raised junction – full width, flat top road hump, 75mm high, 1:12 ramps.

Winmarleigh Street

Approx. 6m north west of its jct. with Palmyra Square South in a south easterly direction for approx. 20m. Raised junction – full width, flat top road hump, 75mm high, 1:12 ramps.
