What is happening?
CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC TRO8194 Queensgate, Northwich in Northwich Winnington & Castle Ward
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Northwich Winnington & Castle Ward to enable excavation in footway and carriageway and install jointbays, works to be carried out by Scottish Power.
Queensgate - Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes.
A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 5th March 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 1 week to complete. Alternative routes for through traffic - Traffic should proceed via Queensgate. Chester Road, Ryders Street

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Tarporley Ward to enable repairs to collapsed in road works to be carried out by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Mill Lane - Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes.
A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 21st February 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 27 weeks to complete. Alternative routes for through traffic - Traffic should proceed via Luddington Hill, Tarporley Road, Utkinton Lane

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/ restrict traffic on the following length of road in Weaver & Cuddington Ward to enable Excavate joint bay works to be carried out by Scottish Power
Onston Lane - Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes.
A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 17th February 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 9 days weeks to complete. Alternative routes for through traffic - Traffic should proceed via Onston Lane, Bag Lane, Bent Lane, Station Road
PROVISION OF ZEBRA CROSSING - VENABLES ROAD, NORTHWICH
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is proposing to install a zebra crossing on Venables Road approximately 12 metres south of its junction with Witton Street.
A location plan of the proposals is available for viewing at Winsford Area Highways Office, Browning Way, Woodford Park, Winsford, CW7 2RB between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Any person wishing to make comments on the proposals must do so in writing to the undersigned by 10th March 2025 quoting reference N/ATE/01.
PROVISION OF TOUCAN CROSSING - A559 CHESTER WAY, NORTHWICH
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is proposing to install a toucan crossing on Chester Way approximately 57 metres from its junction with Kingsway.
A location plan of the proposals is available for viewing at Winsford Area Highways Office, Browning Way, Woodford Park, Winsford, CW7 2RB between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Any person wishing to make comments on the proposals must do so in writing to the undersigned by 10th March 2025 quoting reference N/ATE/02.
PROVISION OF UPGRADED TOUCAN CROSSINGS IN NORTHWICH
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is proposing to upgrade the two existing puffin crossings to toucan crossings at the Station Road/ Manchester Road/Middlewich Road/Victoria Road junction in Northwich. A location plan of the proposals is available for viewing at Winsford Area Highways Office, Browning Way, Woodford Park, Winsford, CW7 2RB between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

CONVERSION OF FOOTWAY TO FOOTWAY/CYCLEWAY NORTHWICH TOWN CENTRE
Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is proposing to convert the following length of footway to an unsegregated shared use footway/cycleway using powers under sections 66(4) and section 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980.
- Station Road (south side) - From its junction with Chester Way for a distance of 75 metres in a south easterly direction
- Chester Way (east side) - From its junction with Station Road for a distance of 58 metres in a southerly direction
- Chester Way (west side) - From its junction with Church Road for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction
- Chester Way (east side) - From its junction with Kingsway for a distance of 56 metres in a southerly direction
- Station Road (south) (west side) - From its junction with Chester Way to its junction with Forest Place
- Station Road (both sides) - at the toucan crossings points at its junction with Manchester Road
- Manchester Road (both sides) - at the toucan crossings points at its junction with Station Road

PROVISION OF TRAFFIC CALMING FEATURES IN NORTHWICH
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980, Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council is proposing to introduce traffic calming features in the following locations in Northwich:-
- Venables Road - 75mm height raised table - Between its junction with Witton Street and Albion Road (72 metres in length)
- Albion Road - 75mm height raised table - from its junction with Venables Road for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction
- Witton Street (east) - 75mm height raised table - from its junction with Venables Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction
- Witton Street (west) - 75mm height raised table - from its junction with Venables Road for a distance of 8 metres in a westerly direction
- Church Road - 75mm height raised table - from its junction with Witton Street for a distance of 6.5 metres in a southerly direction
- Victoria Road - traffic buildouts for a road narrowing at its junction with Neumann Street

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL KINGSWAY, NORTHWICH (ONE WAY ORDER) PROPOSED ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make an Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the order will be to only permit vehicles to be driven on the following length of roads one way in the direction specified.
Kingsway, Northwich - From its junction with A559 Chester Way to its junction with Victoria Road in a south easterly direction

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL STATION ROAD & WITTON STREET, NORTHWICH (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.
The effect of the order will be to introduce a reduced speed limit on the roads mentioned in the schedule below.
Schedule 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT
B5082 Station Road - from its junction with Hadfield Street to its junction with Victoria Road.
Witton Street - from its junction with Venables Road to its junction with Old Warrington Road.
Station Road (north) - from its junction with A559 Chester Way to its junction with Old Warrington Road.
Station Road (south) - from its junction with A559 Chester Way to its junction with Station Road.

TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
(VICTORIA ROAD, NORTHWICH) (PROPOSED PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Orders in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
- Victoria Road - North side - from a point 5 metres southwest of its junction with Neumann Street for a distance of 35 metres in a south-westerly direction.
- Victoria Road - South side - from a point 7 metres northeast of its junction with Neumann Street for a distance of 42 metres in a south-westerly direction.
