Centenary Bridge and Centenary Way - Temporary Road Closure to Carry Out Inspections to Centenary Bridge

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford has made the Salford City Council (Centenary Bridge and Centenary Way, Salford) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Order will close Centenary Bridge and Centenary way for its entire length. Diversion routes will be via:

(i) Guiness Road -Ashburton Road West - Redclyffe Road - Barton Road - Liverpool Road - Church Street - Irwell Place - Bentcliffe Way - Centenary Way and; (ii) Coronet Way - Pacific Way - Broadway - Trafford Road - White City Circle - Trafford Wharf Road - Victoria Place - Sir Alex Ferguson Way - Trafford Wharf Road - Churchill Way - Trafford Park Road - Moorings Road - Tenax Circle - Centenary Way.

The closure is required for Salford City Council to carry out inspections to Centenary Bridge.

The order is intended to come into operation on 17th February 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by 22nd February 2025. The closure will be in place 24 hours each day.

A copy of the Order and plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm inclusive.
