What is happening?

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ACT 2004

PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING AND ON-STREET PARKING

TAUNTON DEANE ORDER 2012

(AMENDMENT NO. 56) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Somerset Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act of 1984’) as amended; and the Traffic Management Act 2004, (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act of 2004’) as amended, and all other enabling powers; and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police.

The effect will result in changes to the parking and waiting restrictions in the following locations:

Taunton: Blackbrook Park Avenue, Byron Road, Galmington Road, Trull Road, Mountway Road, A38 Wellington Road, Priory Park, Queensway, College Way, Wilfred Road, Sherford Road, Trull Road, Lisieux Way, Wordsworth Drive, Bindon Road

Bishops Hull: Waterfield Drive

Cheddon Fitzpaine: Lyngford Lane

Stoke St Gregory: Huntham Lane, Willey Road

Wellington: South Street, Mantle Street, Torres Vedras Drive, Cades Roundabout

Wiveliscombe: North Street, West Street

Norton Fitzwarren: Wiveliscombe Road, Coopers Mill, Great Western Way

Milverton: B3187 North Street, Parsonage Lane, Mill Lane, Woodbarton, Creedwell Orchard, B3187 Fore Street

A copy of the draft Traffic Regulation Order, associated plans and Statement of Reason may be examined online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO, search for Taunton Deane Amendment No. 56. If you are unable to access the internet or website, please contact 0300 123 2224.

Any person wishing to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objection and state the grounds on which it is made to Somerset Council, via email to TROinbox@somerset.gov.uk quoting Reference No. ET23102024 and received no later than 21 days from the publication of this notice.

The names and addresses of anyone writing in may be made available for public inspection and will be included in a report that may be published on the Somerset Council website, unless the individuals concerned state, in writing, their objection to their names and address being made so available or being included in the publication.

STATEMENT OF REASONS FOR PROPOSING TO MAKE THE ORDER

To avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or to preserve or improve amenities of the area through which the roads run.
