PROPOSED TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER CITY OF COVENTRY (TREHERNE ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”).

The Order is proposed as a traffic management scheme to prohibit the left turn manoeuvre from Burnaby Road into Treherne Road in order to reduce the volume of traffic on Treherne Road and Rupert Road.

A copy of this Notice, the draft Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council’s website ‘WWW.COVENTRY.GOV.UK/TRO’

PROPOSED TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER CITY OF COVENTRY (FENTON ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”).

The Order is proposed as a traffic management scheme to prohibit Motor Vehicles (except for access) being driven into and along Fenton Road in order to reduce the volume of traffic and the anti-social behaviour associated with employees accessing adjacent commercial properties.

A copy of this Notice, the draft Order, plan and Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the Council House (reception area) Earl Street, Coventry and on the Council’s website ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’

NOTICE OF MAKING CITY CENTRE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDERS

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Traffic Regulation Orders (“the Orders”), which come into operation on 17th February 2025

The Orders are required as part of traffic management changes to assist to keep traffic moving, reduce congestion and enhance facilities for cyclists in the city centre. The changes include the introduction of a ‘red route’.

The Orders are:-
(i) City of Coventry (City Centre) (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Designation, Waiting Restrictions, Loading Restrictions, Loading Areas and Street Parking Places) Order 2025

The effect of this Order is to add to, vary or amend the waiting restrictions on certain lengths of the following roads:

Access road to bus depot, Barracks Way, Bird St, Bishop St, Bond St, Burges (The), Central 6 access road, Chapel St, Chauntry Place, Cheylesmore, Cook St, Corporation St, Cox St, Croft Rd, Cross Cheaping, Earl St, Eaton Rd, Fairfax St, Fleet St, Friars Rd, Gosford St, Greyfriars La, Greyfriars Rd, Grosvenor Rd, Grosvenor Road Link Road, Hales St, Henry St, Hill St, Hill Top, Ironmonger Row, Lamb St, Little Park St, Lower Holyhead Rd, Manor House Dr, Manor Rd, Michaelmas Rd, New Buildings, New Union St, Palmer La, Priory St, Queen Victoria Rd, Ringway Queens anticlockwise off slip, Ringway Queens clockwise on slip, Ringway St Patricks clockwise off slip, Ryley St, Salt La, Service road to the rear of City Arcade, St Patricks Rd, Sheriffs Orchard, Silver St, Spencer Rd, Spon St, Starley Rd, Tower St, Trinity St, Upper Well St, Warwick La, Warwick Rd, Warwick Row, Watch Cl, Well St, West Orchards access road, Western Link Road, White St, The details of the changes introduced by this order are contained in the Statement of Reasons and the Map Tiles all of which are available on the Council’s website (see link below).

(ii) City of Coventry (Greyfriars Road) (Bus Gate and Revocation) Order 2025

The effect of this order is to remove the bus gate on Warwick Road and introduce a bus gate on Greyfriars Road between its junctions with Sheriffs Orchard and Warwick Road which prohibits vehicles other than buses, pedal cycles, hackney carriages and private hire vehicles.

(iii) City of Coventry (Lamb Street) (One Way) Order 2025
The effect of this order will be to retain the one way on Lamb Street but permit cyclists to travel in any direction on Lamb Street.

(iv) City of Coventry (Various Roads) (One Way Traffic) (Exemption) Order 2025

The effect of this order shall be to retain the existing one-way restriction on Greyfriars Lane, Salt Lane, and St Patricks Road, but permit cycles to travel in any direction on these roads.

A copy of this Notice, the sealed Orders, plan and Statement of Reasons may be inspected on the Council’s website at www.coventry.gov.uk/tro and at Council House Reception, Earl Street, Coventry during normal office hours.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder, or of any relevant Act, has not been complied with may, within six (6) weeks from today, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS ELMSDALE AVENUE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on that section of Elmsdale Avenue commencing at its junction with Barton Road and continuing to its junction with Arbury Avenue.

The Order would come into effect from 00.01 hours on Monday 24th February 2024. The Order is required to enable the safe installation of telecommunications apparatus on the said length of road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) month however it is expected that the works would be completed by Tuesday 11th March 2024.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency.

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS AVON STREET, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation 
Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on that section of Avon Street commencing at its junction with Shakespeare Street and continuing to its junction with North Street.

The Order would come into effect from 00.01 hours on Monday 24th February 2024. The Order is required to enable the safe installation of telecommunications apparatus on the said length of road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) month however it is expected that the works would be completed by Monday 10th March 2024.

Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency.

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS BEECH TREE AVENUE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Beech Tree Avenue from its junction with Broad Lane to its junction with Fir Tree Avenue.

The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 24th February 2025 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out a sluice valve renewal on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 26th February 2025.

The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Beech Tree Avenue.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS CRESCENT AVENUE, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Crescent Avenue for its full length.

The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 24th February 2025 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to renew water connections on the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Tuesday 11th March 2025.

The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Crescent Avenue.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS A45 BIRMINGHAM ROAD

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to:-

(i) reduce the current 60mph speed limit to 40mph; and
(ii) prohibit waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along that part of the A45 Birmingham Road commencing at its junction with Pickford Gate Slip Road and continuing outbound to the exit to Sytner Land Rover The Order will come into effect from 07.00 hours on Sunday 16 February 2025 and is required to enable drainage repair works and associated works to be carried out safely on said length of road. The Order shall operate when prescribed signs are displayed on site.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months however it is expected that the works would be completed by Sunday 16 March 2025.

Diversion routes will be sign posted where appropriate and access to premises maintained wherever possible except when works is directly in front of a property. Exemptions will be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency.

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS WEBSTER STREET, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Webster Street the junction from Foleshill Road and Broad Street.

The Order would come into effect from 16 February 2025 to allow manhole cover and frame repair to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 16 February 2025.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to the closed section Webster Street.

(e) Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS CANNON HILL ROAD, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Cannon Hill Road from its junction with Merynton Avenue to its junction with Hilary Road.

The Order would come into effect from 17 February 2025 to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out water connection renewals to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 21st February 2025.

Exemptions will be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to the closed section Cannon Hill Road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS OVERDALE ROAD, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Overdale Road for its full length.

The Order will come into effect on 00:01 hours on Monday 17th February 2025 and is required to allow for the safe delivery of construction materials on or near the said road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Friday 21st February 2025.

The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.

Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.

Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access to Overdale Road

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on that section of Torrington Avenue from its junction with Wolfe Road to its junction with Station Avenue.

The Order will come into effect from 00.01 hours on Monday 17th February 2025. The Order is required to enable Severn Trent Water to safely repair access chamber covers on the said length of road.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) month however it is expected that the works will be completed by Monday 17th February 2025.

Exemptions will be provided for:
