NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257
The East Cambridgeshire District Council (Public Footpath Nos. 2, 3 and 5, Ely (part)) Public Path Diversion Order 2023
On 31st January 2025, East Cambridgeshire District Council confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert part of Public Footpath Nos. 2, 3, and 5, Ely as described below and shown on the order map:
Part of Footpath 2 commencing on a track at OSGR TL 5390 7974, generally southwest for approx. 7 m to a junction with Ely Footpath 3 at TL 5389 7973. The footpath continues generally southwest across a field for approx. 165 m to a junction with Ely Footpath 5 at TL 5378 7961. The footpath then continues generally southwest for approx. 138 m to TL 5377 7959.
A new line commencing on a track at TL 5390 7974, generally east-southeast for approx. 38 m to a point located to the south of a line of trees at TL 5393 7972. Then continuing around a corner in a generally southeast to southwest direction for approx. 37 m to a point located 3 m to the north of a drain at TL 5393 7969. Then continuing generally along a southwest alignment, 3 m to the north of a drain, for approx. 182 m to TL 5380 7957. Then continuing around a corner in a generally southwest to northwest direction for approx. 5 m to a point at TL 5379 7966. Then continuing generally northwest for approx. 36 m to TL 5377 7959.
Part of Ely Footpath 3 commencing at a junction with Ely Footpath 2 at TL 5389 7973, generally west-northwest across a sports pitch for approx. 69 m to a junction with Public Footpath No. 5, Ely at an earth bund at TL 5387 7971. The footpath then continues generally west-northwest for approx. 31 m to a kissing gate at TL 5375 7979.
A new line commencing on a track at TL 5390 7974, generally west-northwest across a sports pitch for approx. 31 m to a gravel path at TL 5387 7973. Then continuing along the gravel path, generally west-northwest for approx. 69 m to a gravel path, north of a set of steps, at TL 5381 7979. Then continuing along the gravel path, generally west-northwest for approx. 31 m to TL 5378 7980. Then continuing along a worn path, to the north of an earth bund, generally west-southwest for approx. 33 m to a point adjacent to a kissing gate at TL 5375 7979.
Part of Ely Footpath 5 commencing at a junction with Ely Footpath 2 at OSGR TL 5380 7961, generally west-southwest across a sports pitch for approx. 35 m to a point at the east of the boundary with the Golf Club at TL 5375 7960.
Part of Ely Footpath 5 commencing at a point in the north of the boundary with the Golf Club at TL 5376 7978, generally north-northeast for approx. 30 m to a junction with Ely Footpath 3 at an earth bund at TL 5376 7978.
A new line commencing from a point to the north of the boundary with the Golf Club at TL 5376 7978, generally northwest, adjacent to the boundary with the Golf Club, for approx. 17 m to a point adjacent to a kissing gate at TL 5375 7979.

Copies of the Order and Order Map may be purchased at the price of £16.20.
The Order comes into force on the date when Cambridgeshire County Council certifies that the terms of Articles 2 and 3 of the Order have been complied with.
If any person is aggrieved by the Order and wishes to question its validity or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, they may apply to the High Court under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within six weeks from the date of this notice.
