THE A14 TRUNK ROAD JUNCTION 47 WOOLPIT INTERCHANGE, SUFFOLK SLIP ROADS - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(A) AND (7) THE A14 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 47 WOOLPIT INTERCHANGE, SUFFOLK) SLIP ROADS (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A14 Trunk Road, in the County of Suffolk to enable third-party new water connection works and general routine maintenance to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to last for approximately 3 days starting on or after Saturday 1 March 2025 at 7am and ending when the works have been completed.

The effect of the Order would be to close, for 24 hours daily, the A14 Junction 47 Woolpit Interchange –

• eastbound exit slip road – diverting traffic to continue on the A14 to exit at J49, then return via the A14 westbound to exit at J47 and follow the A1088, and

• eastbound entry slip road – diverting traffic via the A1088, A14 westbound to exit at J45, then via Sow Lane to return via the A14 eastbound to J47 and continue their journey.

Access to properties would be maintained at all times during the closures. The closures (which would not apply to works, winter maintenance, emergency service or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

The Order would come into force on 24 February 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
