What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(KELLET LANE, OVER KELLET, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) NOTICE 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of Kellet Lane, Over Kellet from its junction with Netherbeck to its junction with Cappernwray Road.
1. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
2. The prohibition will be operative from 0001 hours on Wednesday 19th February 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 28th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Cappernwray Road – B6254 Kellet Road – B6254 Market Street – A6 Scotland Road - Borwick Lane – Kellet Lane and vice Versa.
AND FURTHER, during the period of the temporary prohibition the existing 7.5 tonne weight restriction on B6254 Market Street, Carnforth for its entire length will be temporarily suspended.
The temporary prohibition is necessary due to a bridge strike.
