Twitter Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRANCH ROAD, CLITHEROE ROAD, THE SQUARE AND TWITTER LANE, WADDINGTON, RIBBLE VALLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Branch Road, Clitheroe Road, The Square and Twitter Lane, Waddington as follows: -
Branch Road – from its junction with Clitheroe Road to its junction with West Bradford Road
Clitheroe Road – from its junction with Branch Road to a point outside the War Memorial
The Square – from its junction with Twitter Lane to its junction with West Bradford Road
Twitter Lane – From its junction with Belle Vue Lane to its junction with The Square
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on 27th February 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
Waddington Road – Grindleton Road – Ribble Lane – Crow Trees Brow – Clitheroe Road – Worston Road – Whalley Clitheroe Bypass – Pendle Road – Waterloo Road – Waddington Road and vice versa
HGV's Via – Slaidburn Road – Becks Brow to Mere Syke Bridge – Settle Road – Bolton By Bowland Road- Sawley Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Openreach on behalf of British Telecom to carry out essential utility works.
