What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC MARTON ROAD/
PINFOLD STREET, BRIDLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along the following roads commencing 4 March 2025
to allow resurfacing works to be carried out safely.
• Marton Road (between the junctions of Pinfold
Street and Pinfold Lane). The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
Marton Road, Marton Road Roundabout, Sewerby
Heads, Sewerby Road Roundabout, Fortyfoot,
Queensgate, St John Street, Scarborough Road South,
Marton Road and vice versa.
• Pinfold Street (between the junctions of Lords Way
and Marton Road). The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via: Sewerby Road,
Sewerby Heads, Marton Road one way only.
The road closures are necessary to enable the works
to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed by 14 March 2025.
The closures will be between 18.00 hours and 23.00
hours. The diversion route will be signed at the
time of closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic
but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles,
residents and pedestrians.
