U4080 Wellstrand – Temporary Road and Footway Closure

U4080 WELLSTRAND ROTHBURY
(TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic on the following sections of highways on the U4080 Wellstrand Rothbury in the County of Northumberland.
Road Closure:
U4080 Wellstrand Rothbury from its junction with The Maltings heading in a southerly direction for a distance of 7 metres in the County of Northumberland.
Footway Closure:
U4080 Wellstrand Rothbury from its point with U4080 Wellstrand carriageway heading in a southerly direction for a distance of 31 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 3rd March 2025 until the 10th March 2025.
It is expected that the road and footway will only be closed on the 3rd March 2025 between the hours of 09:00 until 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 10th March 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being Rothbury Alnwick District Footpath 014, Model Buildings, Stephenson Terrace Cottages, Footway in front of Stephenson Terrace and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water to carry out a CCTV survey and cleanse of the sewer. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
