What is happening?
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COUNCIL
PROPOSED TOUCAN CROSSING AND CONVERSION OF
FOOTWAY TO SHARED USE – ELLEN ROAD, AYLESBURY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Buckinghamshire Council in exercise of its power under Section 65 of Highways Act 1980 and Section 23 of Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the below purpose.
The effect of the Order is to improve pedestrian and cyclists’ safety along Ellen Road, including reducing collisions at the existing unofficial crossing point. To address these issues, several proposals have been made and are listed below:

Ellen Road Installation of a toucan crossing in place of the existing
island opposite The Mandeville School. Conversion of the footway between Orwell Drive and Churchill
Avenue, and footway between Grenville Green to
Churchill Avenue to shared use. (Pedestrians and Cycles) A copy of the Order and Plans showing the lengths of road affected, together with a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm at Buckinghamshire Council, Council Access Plus, Walton Street, Aylesbury, HP20 1UA, United Kingdom.
