Temporary Parking & Traffic Arrangements Merrick Road, Southall - NOI
1. Ealing Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of which would be to prohibit: -
(a) the waiting and loading of vehicles;
(b) pedestrians [and all footpath users] from entering or proceeding: on Merrick Road, the west side, between: (i) Kingston Road and Osterley Park Road; (ii) Windsor Road and the controlled crossing north of that junction; and (iii) Norwood Road and Guru Nanak Road, at such times and extent when prescribed traffic signs are being displayed.
2. The Order would come into effect at 0800 hours on Monday, 24 February 2025, and is required to facilitate footway renewal works to be undertaken safely on Merrick Road, the west side.
3. The maximum duration of the Order would be 18 months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated that the works would be completed by late June 2025.
4. Diversions for vehicles would be as signed on site.
5. Exemptions would be provided for: -
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) any person(s) in connection with the execution of the said works;
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
