What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PANSHANGER DRIVE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Panshanger Drive, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Waterford Green south eastwards for a distance of approximately 25m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Panshanger Drive, B195 Black Fan Rd, Sylvan Way, Moors Walk and Panshanger Drive.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN GREAT BRAITCH LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Great Braitch Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Bluebell Way north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Green Lanes, a distance of approximately 258m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bluebell Way, Campion Road, Hatfield Avenue, Manor Road and Green Lanes.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 March 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
That length of Graveley Dell, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Waterford Green south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Tollgate Road, North Mymms from its junction with Dixons Hill Road south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The access road leading to ‘St Marys Church’, North Mymms from its junction with Tollgate Road south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access, and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:
That length of Strafford Close, Potters Bar from its junction with Strafford Gate north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Ladbrooke Close, Potters Bar from its junction with Strafford Gate north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Wentworth Close, Potters Bar from its junction with Strafford Gate north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of The Links, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Applecroft Road north westwards and south westwards to its junctions with B195 Valley Road, a distance of approximately 115m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Applecroft Road, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with The Links south eastwards to its junction with Attimore Road, a distance of approximately 71m.
An alternative route will be via The Links, B195 Valley Road, Youngs Rise and Elm Gardens.
That length of B195 Valley Road, Welwyn Garden City from its southernmost junction with The Links north eastwards to its junction with Youngs Rise, a distance of approximately 251m.
An alternative route will be via B195 (Valley Road/Bridge Road/the Campus roundabout/Bridge Road, A1000 Broadwater Road, A6129 (Broadwater Road/Stanborough Road), B653 Stanborough Road and B197 Great North Road.
That length of Dayemead, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with The Commons northwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Sandringham Road, Potters Bar from its junction with Church Road south eastwards and north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
That length of Brooksfield, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with The Paddocks clockwise to its junction with Poplars, a distance of approximately 454m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Fern Grove, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Monks Rise south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 183m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of Rowans, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the Blythway/Haldens roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Lumbards, a distance of approximately 652m.
An alternative route will be via Haldens, Sloansway and Lumbards.
That length of Salmon Close, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Rowans north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
That length of West End Lane, Essendon from its junction with B158 Essendon Hill north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Wild Hill, a distance of approximately 3108m.
An alternative route will be via B158 (Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill) and Wild Hill.
6. That length of Westcott, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Chedburgh north westwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
7. That length of Wheatbarn, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Brookfield south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STATION ROAD, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Road, Hatfield from its junction with Dixons Hill Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Dixons Hill Road, Dellsome Lane and Station Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B656 HIGH STREET, CODICOTE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B656 High Street, Codicote from its junction with Cowards Lane south eastwards to its northernmost junction with Rabley Heath Road, a distance of approximately 84m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via:
- B656 (Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street),
- B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road),
- A602 (Six Hills Way),
- A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way),
- A602 (Lytton Way/Hitchin Road/Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road) and
- B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road/High Street).
Or via:
- B656 (High Street/Hitchin Road/London Road),
- A602 (Stevenage Road/Wymondley Bypass/Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/James Way/Lytton Way),
- A1155 (Fairlands Way/St Georges Way),
- A602 (Six Hills Way),
- B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road) and
- B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road).
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
