Aldon Rd - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(COCKER AVENUE, FURNESS DRIVE, CLARKE STREET AND ALDON ROAD, POULTON-LE-FYLDE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Cocker Avenue, Furness Drive, Clarke Street, Aldon Street, Poulton-Le-Fylde.
i. Cocker Avenue from its junction with Furness Drive to its junction with Wood Street
ii. Furness Drive from its junction with Clarke Street to its junction with Cocker Street
iii. Clarke Street from its junction with Furness Drive to it junction with Aldon Road
iv. Aldon Road from its junction with Clarke Street to its junction Garstang Road East
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative.
i. Cocker Avenue from 0800 hours on Monday 24th February 2025 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 11th March 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
ii. Furness Drive from 0800 hours on Monday 10th March 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 21st March 2025
iii. Clarke Street from 0800 hours on Monday 24th March 2025 until Friday 4th April 2025
iv. Aldon Road from 0800 hours on Wednesday 2nd April 2025 until Thursday 10th April 2025
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. Cocker Avenue Diversion
Furness Drive – Beacon Road and vice versa
ii. Furness Drive Diversion
Clarke Street - Aldon Road – Cocker Avenue and vice versa
iii. Clarke Street Diversion
Cocker Avenue – Aldon Road and vice versa
iv. Aldon Road Diversion
Garstang Road East – Bracewell Avenue – Furness Drive – Clarke Street and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavate a track to install high voltage cable to be carried out.
