What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(KILNWICK ROAD, POCKLINGTON (PART))
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Kilnwick
Road, Pocklington from its junction with St Helens
Road eastbound to a property called Sefton from
17 February 2025 until 20 February 2025 followed
by two-way lights until 5 March 2025. The reason for
the closure is to enable the proposed excavation across
the carriageway for underground electrical works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within 17 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Kilnwick Road, Millington Lane, Fishpond Hill,
Kilnwick Percy Hill, Baggaby Hill, Inrea Hill, Westbeck
Hill, Main Street, North Dalton Road, Driffield Road,
Tibthorpe Road, Middleton Road, Main Road from
Middleton to Bainton, Church Hill Road, Front Street,
Market Weighton Road, Kiplingcotes Road, Towthorpe
Lane, York Road, The Balk, The Balk Old Route, Station
Road, Chapmangate, Bridge Street and London Street.
The road will be open at all times to pedestrians and
for vehicular access to properties directly affected by
the closure and for emergency services.
The Order will commence 17 February 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
