(Footpath 55A) Cheadle And Gatley) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Notice 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Footpath Closure at Footpath 55A Cheadle and Gatley for approximately 500 metres between Turves Road and the Bruntwood Park car park, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath.
This Order is necessary to allow works for widening the path as part of the scheme 12 of the A34 MRN works to take place.
A diversion will be provided via Bruntwood Lane, Turves Road, Cheadle Road, Bruntwood Lane.
Pedestrians can use footpath 64 CG and either re-enter the park or continue to Cheadle Road.
This Order is to come into operation on the 20 February 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: AP/6745036
