Victoria Street/Mitchell Street, Douglas –  Prohibition of Waiting/Loading Order 2025

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984 has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 189) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 23/02/2025.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:

•  Victoria Street, Pemberton – North side from its junction with Mitchell Street to a point 15 metres west of Mitchell Street.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•  Victoria Street, Douglas – North side from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Mitchell Street to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Mitchell Street. The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:

•  Mitchell Street, Douglas – North West side from its junction with Victoria Street to a point 7 metres north east of its junction with Victoria Street.

•  Mitchell Street, Douglas – South East side from its junction with Victoria Street to a point 13 metres north east of its junction with Victoria Street.

•  Victoria Street, Douglas – North side from a point 15 metres west of its junction with Mitchell Street to a point 15 metres east of its junction with Mitchell Street. A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing  d.rumsey@wigan.gov.uk.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act

1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004, or

(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 21/01/2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

(Wallgate Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Wallgate Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Wallgate Wigan at Railway Bridge during the period of five days commencing on 28/04/2025 to 02/05/2025 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00.

The alternative route for traffic is: Frog Lane, New Market Street, B5375 Northway, B5375 Powell Street, A49 Riverway, A49 Chapel Lane and A577 Caroline Street.

The Order is necessary to allow closure required to allow access/assessment of bridge.

Bolton Road Ashton In Makerfield Wigan – Various Traffic Orders Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.593) Order 2024 which will come into operation on 11/12/2025.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke prohibited waiting at any time on:

•  Bolton Road Ashton – north west side from a point 15 metres north east of its junction with George Street to a point 38 metres south west of its junction with Bryn Road South.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke restricted loading on any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday 7.30am-9.30am and 4.00pm-6.30pm on the following roads:

•  Bolton Road Ashton – north west side from a point 53 metres north east of its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 38 metres south west of its junction with Bryn Road South

The effect of the Order will be to introduce prohibited waiting at any time on:

•  Bolton Road Ashton – northwest side from a point 15 metres northeast of its junction with George Street to a point 26 metres southwest of its junction with Bryn Road South

•  Bolton Road Ashton – northwest side from a point 76 metres southwest of its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 135 metres south west of its junction with Bryn Road South

The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted loading on any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday 7.30am-9.30am and 4.00pm-6.30pm on the following roads:

•  Bolton Road Ashton – northwest side from a point 53 metres northeast of its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 26 metres southwest of its junction with Bryn Road South.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a loading bay on any day 06.30-07:30am and 3:00-5:00pm on the following roads:

•  Bolton Road Ashton – northwest side from a point 34 metres southwest of its junction with Bryn Road South to a point 44 metres southwest of its junction with Bryn Road South

(Queensway Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Queensway Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Queensway Wigan during the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 on 24/02/2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Walkden Avenue, Mesnes Road and Holme Terrace. The Order is necessary to allow a telegraph pole replacement.

(Bickershaw Lane Abram) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Bickershaw Lane Abram) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bickershaw Lane, Abram during the period of 09:30 and 15:30 on 22/04/2025.

The alternative route for traffic is:- Warrington Road, Platt Street, Liverpool Road, Atherton Road, Leigh Road and Smiths Lane.

The Order is necessary to allow a telegraph pole replacement.

(Ince Green Lane Ince-In-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure)

Order 2025 Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Ince Green Lane Ince-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Ince Green Lane Ince-in-Makerfield at the railway bridge during the period of 20:00 to 05:00 commencing on 24/02/2025 to 29/02/2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Warrington Road, Warrington Lane, Darlington Street East and Manchester Road.

The Order is necessary to allow bridge maintenance works.

(Thirlmere Avenue Standish)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Thirlmere Avenue Standish) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Thirlmere Avenue Standish during the period of 28/04/2025 to 12/05/2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Wigan Road and Roundmoor Road.

The Order is necessary to allow gas mains replacement. Dated this 11th day of February 2025
