CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(LEOPOLD ROAD, LINSLADE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Leopold Road, Linslade.
This temporary closure is required to enable gully works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from
3 to 7 March 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Springfield Road, Soulbury Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 3 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(HOCKLIFFE ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard 20 metres either side of Light Railway Crossing.
This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 17 February 2025 to 17 March 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A4012, A5, A505, A4146, A4012 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 17 February 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE
A 20MPH SPEED LIMIT ON VANDYKE ROAD AND NEAL CRESCENT, LEIGHTON BUZZARD
Reason for proposal: The speed limit is intended to reduce the speed of traffic entering and leaving the newly built-up area and is being proposed in combination with other Highway modifications as part of a Section 278.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce a 20mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in Leighton Buzzard:-
1. Vandyke Road, from a point approximately 39 metres northeast of Vandyke Road Spur and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 115 metres.
2. Neal Crescent, for its full length.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 4th February 2024, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HEATH AND REACH: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 1) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
The above Order was made on 7 February 2025 under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. The effect of the Order will be to divert part of the public footpath and create an alternative footpath instead.
The length of Footpath No. 1, Heath and Reach to be diverted extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 1, Heath and Reach at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9317 2869 in a generally west-southwesterly direction for approximately 677 metres to terminate at OS GR SP 9257 2843.
The footpath is stopped up across its full width.
The length of Footpath No. 1, Heath and Reach to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 1, Heath and Reach at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9317 2869 in a northerly direction for approximately 198 metres to its junction with Bryants Lane at OS GR SP 9316 2889 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 572 metres to terminate at its junction with Bryants Lane at OS GR SP 9262 2877. The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.
