What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1078 ASHE ROAD, ASH ROAD AND ASHE ROW, HACHESTON AND CAMPSEA ASHE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • B1078 Ashe Road, Hacheston from the A12, Hacheston southbound slip on to Ash Road, Campsea Ashe.

  • B1078 Ash Road, Campsea Ashe.

  • B1078 Ashe Row, Campsea Ashe.

This is to facilitate pre surface dressing patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A12, the A1094, the B1069, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/02/2025 - 22/02/2025 from 8pm - 5am with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1061 DANE COMMON, KEDINGTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1061 Dane Common, Kedington from White Horse Road to Kings Hill to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1061, the A1017, the A143, the B1061 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/02/2025 - 20/02/2025 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1113 FINNINGHAM ROAD, OLD NEWTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1113 Finningham Road, Old Newton from 70 metres north of the junction with Falconer Avenue for 30 metres northbound to facilitate repairs to a water defect. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A143, the A140, the A1120, the B1115 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from **08/02/2025 - 09/02/2025** but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C639 THE STREET, HEPWORTH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C639 The Street, Hepworth from 400 metres north of the junction with the A143 for 50 metres northbound to facilitate remedial works from the previous burst water main. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Hepworth Road, the B1111, the A143, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/02/2025 - 21/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C446 STONE STREET, CROWFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C446 Stone Street, Crowfield from the junction with Gosbeck Road for 85 metres south westbound to facilitate underground electrical cable works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Debenham Road, Ipswich Way, Pettaugh, The Green, the A1120, the A140, the B1078, Stone Street, Coddenham, Lower Road, Crowfield Road, Stone Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/02/2025 - 22/02/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4105 THE STREET, HOLBROOK

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4105 The Street, Holbrook from Broomhill House to Longacre to facilitate telecommunications pole and overhead cabling maintenance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Woodlands Road, the B1080, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 19/02/2025 from 9.30am - 4.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1071 CORAM STREET, POLSTEAD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A1071 Coram Street, Polstead from 20 metres west of Evans Heath to 20 metres east of Evans Heath to facilitate telecommunications pole and overhead cable maintenance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1071, the A134, the A1341, the A12, the A1214, the A1071 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 19/02/2025 from 10am - 4pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

SECTION 116 AND SCHEDULE 12 OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

Notice of intention to apply to stop up the highway at GLEMSFORD

Notice is given that Suffolk County Council as Highway Authority for the County of Suffolk intends to apply to Ipswich Magistrates’ Court sitting at Elm Street, Ipswich IP1 2AP on 17/03/2025 at 10am for an order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of an area of the highway being a small end of section of Cutts Lane (U7339 unclassified road) adjacent to Sluice Cottage, Glemsford with the retention of public footpath rights over a strip 1.5 metres wide at Glemsford on the ground that the highway is unnecessary. The effect of the order will be to extinguish all public rights of way over the said land save that public footpath rights shall be retained over the 1.5 metre strip referred to above.

A copy of the draft order and plan may be inspected free of charge at the Council Offices at Suffolk County Council, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich IP1 2BX between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Fridays (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) from 07/02/2025 to 06/03/2025.

Any person to whom this notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the order may appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application. Any person intending to appear before the Magistrates’ Court at the hearing of the application is requested to inform Alshah Siddika at Suffolk County Council, Legal Services, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich IP1 2BX, before 08/03/2025 quoting reference 8205/Legal.
