Promenade, Temporary One Way estrictions Due To Highway Improvement Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C6006 PROMENADE, WALNEY, BARROW-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway improvement works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a northerly direction along that section of Promenade, Walney, Barrow-in-Furness, from a point approx. 90m north of its junction with Central Drive extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Albert Place South.
A suitable alternative route for south bound vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Promenade, Mill Lane, Moor Town Lane and Central Drive.

The Order will come into operation on 10 February 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 6 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
