Carlisle - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(C1012 SCALEBY, C1038 WETHERAL AND CUMREW CLOSE, CARLISLE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- C1012, Scaleby from its junction with the C1011 to its junction with the U1090.
- C1038, Wetheral from a point approx. 520m south west of its junction with the B6263, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 390m
- Cumrew Close, Carlisle from a point outside No. 14 Cumrew Close extending to a point outside No. 30 Cumrew Close.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1012, A6071 and the C1011.
Duration: From 24 February 2025 for approx. 11 days (Ref: TTROC/13578)
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1038 and the B6263.
Duration: From 24 February 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROC/13614)
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Cumrew Close.
Duration: From 24 March 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROC/13616)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 24 February 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
