What is happening?

Essex County Council

Brandenburg Road, Canvey Island

From its junction with Nordland Road to its junction with Kellington Road, a distance of approximately 420m.

Diversion 1: Nordland Road, Creek Road, Dovervelt Road, Kellington Road, and vice versa.

Diversion 2: Nevada Road onto Diversion 1.

Woodfield Road, Benfleet

From its junction with London Road to its junction with Ewan Way, a distance of approximately 485m.

Diversion 1: Woodfield Way, Highlands Boulevard, Sutherland Boulevard, A13, and vice versa.

Diversion 2: Church Road, Mornington Crescent, onto Diversion 1.

Diversion 3: Estate Road, Mornington Crescent, onto Diversion 1.

Diversion 4: Ormand Gardens, Olive Avenue, Walker Drive onto Diversion 1.

(Beeches Road, Rawreth) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Beeches Road, Rawreth in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 525m north east then south east of its junction with Chelmsford Road for a distance of approximately 350m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd February 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG1HNH5VSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Beeches Road, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth Lane, Hullbridge Road, Watery Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cross Avenue, Wickford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cross Avenue, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Elder Avenue to its junction with Grange Avenue a distance of approximately 125m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th February 2025 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01322443 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains renewal works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Elder Avenue, Nevenden Road, Grange Avenue and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 30th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

& (Canewdon Road, Ashingdon/Canewdon & Lark Hill Road/Anchor Lane/High Street/Lambourne Hall Road, Canewdon)

(Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (No.1) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
  2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
  3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Canewdon Road, Ashingdon/Canewdon & Lark Hill Road/Anchor Lane/High Street/Lambourne Hall Road, Canewdon, from the junction of Ashingdon Road to the junction of Creeksea Ferry Road as cited in the "Essex County Council (Various Roads, Ashingdon and Canewdon) (Weight Restriction) Order 1991" for the duration of the closures only.

The roads being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 30th January 2025, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Diversion 2: Apton Hall Road, Ashingdon Road, Canewdon Road, Lark Hill Road and vice versa.

White Hart Lane, Hockley

From its junction with Hawkewell Road to its junction with Glencrofts, approx. 260m.

Alternative Route: Hawkewell Road, Highams Road and vice versa.

(Vicarage Hill, Benfleet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Vicarage Hill, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 215m north east of its junction with Kings Road for a distance of approximately 185m in north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th February 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP0223101217 – Pinnacle Group). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Pinnacle Group on behalf of Castle Point Borough Council.

An alternative route is available via Vicarage Hill, Essex Way, High Road and vice versa.
