What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

THE WALTHAM FOREST (FOREST ROAD E17) (JUNCTION CLOSURES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 6th February 2025 it made an Order to allow for works associated with the development of the Forest Road corridor to be carried in a safe and efficient manner.

The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from:

i) waiting or loading in Forest Road E17 – between its junction with Hale End Road and Wood Street;

ii) entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at any time, within 20 metres of the junction of any road adjoining the section of road contained in paragraph 2 i) above.

The Order will come into operation on 10th February 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT1(25))

THE WALTHAM FOREST (VARIOUS ROADS) (STREET LIGHTING) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION ON WAITING AND LOADING) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 6th February 2025 it made an Order to allow for the installation and removal of street lighting by Kier Highways LTD and UKPN in a safe and efficient manner in various roads (TT4(25)).

The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to restrict:

(a) vehicles from waiting or loading for any purpose in the roads or parts of roads mentioned in the Schedule to this notice between 08:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs, Mondays to Fridays; or

(b) pedestrians from entering and proceeding in the footpaths mentioned in the Schedule to this notice.

Whilst the restrictions referred to in paragraph 2(b) above remain in force, alternative pedestrian routes would be indicated by notices displayed on site.

The Order will come into operation on 6th February 2025 for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

THE WALTHAM FOREST (LEYTON STATION IMPROVEMENT WORKS) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (LANGTHORNE ROAD E11) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to facilitate the improvement works of Leyton Station located on High Road Leyton E10.

The general effect of the Order would be only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from entering or proceeding for any purpose, at any time, in Langthorne Road E11 – between its junction with Trelawn Road and a point opposite No. 5 Elmore Road (including the stairway connecting Elmore Road (ER) and Langthorne Road outside No. 67 ER).

The Order would come into force on 20th February 2025 and would be valid for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT5(25))

THE WALTHAM FOREST (FOREST ROAD E17) (CADENT GAS MAINS REPLACEMENT) (TEMPORARY MEASURES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025

The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends on making an Order to allow for the replacement of gas mains, by Cadent Gas, to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in Forest Road E17.

The general effect of the Order would be in Forest Road E17, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicular traffic travelling in either direction, eastbound or westbound, from turning right into the gap in the central reservation outside –

(a) No. 660 to No. 668 Forest Road; and

(b) the westernmost access way (exit) of No. 656a Forest Road.

The Order would come into force on 27th February 2025 and would be valid for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT6(25))

NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks, but additional time is required for contingencies.

Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of the above-mentioned orders would be removed.

The restrictions mentioned above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used for:

i) Fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes; or

ii) Any works connected with said works; or

iii) If instructed by an authorised person (officers if the works allow).

NOTE: Signage would be placed in advance of any works in the above-mentioned roads or bridge which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary.
