Reading - Variation of On-Street Pay and Display Parking Charges

What is happening?

READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF VARIATION OF ON-STREET PAY AND DISPLAY PARKING CHARGES AND TARIFFS

Notice is hereby given that Reading Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 25 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and all other enabling powers is varying its on-street pay and display on-street parking charges in accordance with the Schedule below. Please also take note that the existing tariff categories will be simplified into three main areas: Inner Central, Outer Reading and Out of Town.

These changes will come into effect from 1 March 2025.

New parking areas

Inner Central – This area covers central Reading including:

Abbey Street, Blagrave Street, Castle Street, Cheapside, Eldon Square, Fobney Street, Friar Street, Great Knollys Street, Greyfriars Road, Hosier Street, Howard Street, Kenavon Drive, Kings Road, Oxford Road, Sackville Street, St Mary’s Butts, Stanshawe Road, The Forbury, Vachel Road, Valpy Street, Weldale Street, West Street.

Outer Reading – This area includes locations just outside of the town centre:

Addington Road, Alexandra Road, Allcroft Road, Crossland Road, Deansgate Road, Denmark Road, East Street, Elmhurst Road, Erleigh Road, Kendrick Road, London Street, Mill Lane, Morgan Road, Northfield Road, Oxford Road, Redlands Road, Sidmouth Street, South Street, Upper Redlands Road.

Out of town – This area covers locations further from the town centre:

Cintra Avenue, Wokingham Road, Pepper Lane, Wokingham Road.
