(Combined Speed Limits) Order 202*
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under S81, 82(1) & (2) b, 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2) and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).Effect of the order:

a ‘40mph Speed Limit’ (Currently National Speed Limit).Road | Description |
B1256 Braintree Road, Great Dunmow | From a point approximately 320 metres southwest of its junction with Braintree Road, east for approximately 700 metres. |
Braintree Road, Great Dunmow | From its junction with the B1256 Braintree Road northwest for approximately 60 metres (to the existing 30mph Speed Limit sign). |
Stane Street, Great Dunmow | From its junction with Braintree Road, Great Dunmow, northeast/east for its entire length, approximately 140 metres. |
‘The Essex County Council (Former A120 (B1256) various Parishes, Uttlesford) (Various Speed Limits) (Part 1) Order 2006’ is hereby revoked insofar as it relates to those lengths of road in the Parishes of Great Dunmow, and Little Dunmow. All unchanged restrictions in Great Dunmow, and Little Dunmow shall continue in force by virtue of the new Order.
‘The Essex County Council (Woodside Way, Great Dunmow) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2014’ is hereby revoked in its entirety. All restrictions shall remain in force by virtue of this new Order.

(Canfield Road, High Roding)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Canfield Road, High Roding in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m northwest of its junction with Dunmow Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a northwesterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th March 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WG1H2V9Z – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.An alternative route is available via Canfield Road, Green Street, Dunmow Road, Station Road, Dunmow Road, Stortford Road, Great Dunmow Junction West, Stortford Road, High Street, Chelmsford Road, Ongar Road, Dunmow Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
(Field Gate Lane, Ugley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Field Gate Lane, Ugley in the District of Uttlesford, from a point 135m north of its junction with Bedwell Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th March 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (MX05610252546 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Affinity Water.No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 13th February 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)
(No.4) Order 2025)
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order:
‘The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 13th February 2025, with exact dates specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location, and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given
that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Great Dunmow in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with White Street for a distance of approximately 10m in a north-easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th February 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC3003986508 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.Alternative routes are available via:
- Crayfields, Tenterfields, Braintree Road, High Street, White Hart Way, White Street (with access only into Mill Lane).
- White Street, Market Place, High Street, Braintree Road, Tenterfields, Crayfields (with access only into Mill Lane).
The Order came into effect on 30th January 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is earlier.
