What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of School Road, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 75m north west of its junction with Wick Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th February 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20231102527 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surfacing works are undertaken by GTM.An alternative route is available via Moor Road, Langham Lane, Park Lane, Wick Road and vice versa (with access only into School Road).

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order (No.3) 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the specified lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the Consolidation Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 30th January 2025, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

To temporarily close that length of Vineyard Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with St Botolphs Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th February 2025 for 1 night (18:30-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03164997348 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains fitting works are undertaken by Anglian Water.No alternative route is available (with access only into Vineyard Street).
