M6 Motorway, Junction 6 - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 6, BIRMINGHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway at Junction 6, in the City of Birmingham, to allow resurfacing to take place by Birmingham City Council on Salford Circus.

The effect of the Order will be to close –

(a) the link road leading from the northbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 6, to the roundabout junction of Slade Road, the A38 and the A5127 (known as Salford Circus); and

(b) the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the M6 at Junction 6, to Salford Circus.

The work will be carried out between 21:00 hours and 05:00 hours and is expected to start on Sunday 9 February 2025 and continue for two nights.

The Order will come into force on 7 February 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works and for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.

A diversion route via the A38M Aston Expressway, Park Circus, Water Links Boulevard and Lichfield Road will be signed.
