TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage
to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 17th February 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Albert Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 17th February 2025 for 21 days
Purpose:Road Closure - Stavecon, drainage connections for new housing development.
Alternative Route : Sundorne Road, Sundorne Avenue, Sundorne Crescent, Albert Gardens
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using B4397, Marton
Date & Duration:18th February 2025 for 2 days
Purpose:Road Closure - Remedial
Alternative Route : B5067, A528
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Baschurch Road, Bomere Heath
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 7 days
Purpose:Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, lead removal service to properties as part of green recovery scheme.
Alternative Route : B5067, Unnamed road East, Shrewsbury Road
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Belmont, Shrewsbury. At the same time the one way order will be rescinded to allow access.
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 3 days
Purpose:Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, short comm pipe renew. During the works the one way system will be temporarily rescinded for access purposes only.
Alternative Route : Town Walls, Swan Hill, College Hill, Princess Street, Belmont
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Hunkington Lane and Caernarvon Lane, Withington
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 9 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, excavation works required to install 2 new pressure point spool pipework into pipeline.
Alternative Route : Caernarvon Lane, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North East or Drury Lane,
Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South through Rodington Heath, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Street, Shawbury
Date & Duration: 21st February 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Remove fretting surface and relay.
Alternative Route : White Lodge Park, A53
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Street, Shawbury
Date & Duration: 17th February 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - for Working on electricity poles either side of the road, and overhead power lines.

Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Dun Cow Road, Ludlow
Date & Duration:21st February 2025 for 6 hours
Purpose:Road Closure-Severn Trent Water Repair and replace defective manhole cover and frames
Alternative Route : Dun Cow Road, Ferney Avenue, Rocks Green Crescent
Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Linley Terrace, Pontesbury
Date & Duration: 21st February 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, dig out patch to correct depth and relay.
Alternative Route : Bogey Lane, Linley Avenue
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Longslow Road, Market Drayton
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 3 days
Purpose:Road Closure - Small Washout Install

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Marche Lane, Halfway House
Date & Duration:19th February 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, new water connection.

Description of restriction:Traffic will be prohibited from using Mill Road, Newcastle

Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-new water connection

Purpose: Road Closure - Tree trimming

Purpose:Road Closure - Road closure required for the safe access of pole test. Alternative Route : B5070, Station road

Purpose: Replace damaged drainage pipe

Purpose: Road Closure-Cadent -Lay new domestic gas service from main located far side carriageway, excavation in public required

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Great Lyth and Lyth Bank, Great Lyth

Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required to carry out pole test works safely.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Shoot Hill and Cruckton, Shoot Hill

Purpose: Road Closure - New Fibre Connection route.

Purpose: Road Closure - Long comm pipe and non visible leak causing water quality issue.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Tynycoed to Nantmawr

Purpose:Road Closure - Renew Pole in Verge

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road West Of The Junction With The A458, Harley
Date & Duration:23rd February 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for pole testing works.
Alternative Route : A458, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from Crosslanes to Kinnerley
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 12 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Install 13 x wooden Freedom Fibre poles.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road North East continuing South East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road east of Melverley Green
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 33 days
Purpose: Road Closure due to carriageway sinkage
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road South and South East towards Melverley, Unnamed road North East through Ponthen
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Welshpool Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration:19th February 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 20th February 2025 Purpose: Severn Trent Water, replace manhole cover in carriageway.
Alternative Route : Shelton Road, B4386, A5, A458
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Weston road from Baschurch to Weston Lullingfields
Date & Duration: 17th February 2025 for 14 days. 17th to 21st February between 08:00 to 17:00, 22nd February to 7th March 2025 between 09:30 to 14:30. Weekend working 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose:Road Closure - Test, rod and rope, cabling and subduct works.
Alternative Route : B4397, A5, Unnamed road North East through Rednal towards Hordley, Unnamed road South East through Lower Hordley and Bagley
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Willow Street, Oswestry in a Northbound direction from junction of Castle Street.
Date & Duration:17th February 2025 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Large Hydrant Install In-line and Large Sluice Valve Install.
