A696 BELSAY VILLAGE AND
A696 EAST NEWHAM TO NUN HILL BELSAY
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of roads in Belsay in the County of Northumberland:
A696 Belsay Village from its junction with the B6524 heading in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 636 metres.
A696 East Newham to Nun Hill from its point of meeting the A696 Belsay Village heading in an easterly direction for a distance of 365 metres.
The Order is to be effective from the 24th February 2025 until the 1st August 2025.
It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 24th February 2025 until the 28th February 2025 between 08:00 hours and 17:00 hours during this period; however, the order will remain in place until the 1st August 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A696, B6323, A69, A68, B6342, A696 and vice versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council for civils and resurfacing works to be carried out. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
