What is happening?

TEMPORARY DIVERSION ORDER 2025
The purpose of this consultation is to inform you about an Order to temporarily divert Ridge Footpath 8.
Hertfordshire County Council has identified this area for mineral extraction. The planning application has been granted and the reference is 0/1353-06 & 5/2300-06 and can be searched for at: Planning applications and decisions – Hertfordshire County Council.
This area is known as Tyttenhanger Quarry (South of Coursers Road) London Colney, Herts and will be developed by Tarmac Aggregates Ltd.
To enable the mineral extraction to be carried out, it will be necessary to Temporarily Divert Part of Ridge Footpath 8.
The proposed new line of the footpath will run:
- East from Ridge Footpath 8 at TL 2046 0453 for 305m to TL 2075 0462
- South for 730m to TL 2107 0407
- West for 520m to TL 2061 0385, where it rejoins Ridge Footpath 8.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE QUADRANGLE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Quadrangle, Welwyn Garden City from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.1 The Quadrangle north eastwards to a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.5 The Quadrangle, a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN CODICOTE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:
That length of Bury Lane, Codicote, from its junction with B656 High Street north eastwards to the access road leading to Nos.1-36 ‘The Bury’, a distance of approximately 410m.
- Alternative route: via B656 (High Street/Hitchin Road), Drivers End, Nup End, and Bury Lane.
That length of Heath Lane, Codicote, from its junction with B656 High Street south westwards to its junction with Oak Drive, a distance of approximately 390m.
- Alternative route: via B656 High Street, Whitwell Road, The Grove, and Heath Lane.
That length of B656 High Street, Codicote, from its junction with Whitwell Road eastwards to its junction with Heath Lane, a distance of approximately 550m.

TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN QUICKBEAMS, WELWYN GARDEN CITY ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Quickbeams, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Rowans south eastwards, south westwards, and north eastwards for its entire length (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 February 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Northaw Road East, Cuffley from its junction with Theobalds Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 268m (“the Road”).

- B157 (Plough Hill/East Ridgeway/The Ridgeway)
- Well Road
- B156 (Judges Hill/Northaw Road West/Northaw Road East)
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
