St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024 No.2
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Sedlescombe Road North – from Dunelm to the boundary with the A21(T) Sedlescombe Road North.
The Order commenced 2 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 January and 28 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3138 Quarry Hill, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will continue the closure on the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Quarry Hill – from the junction with U3106 West Hill Road to the junction with U3136 Archery Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3106 West Hill Road – U3110 Boscobel Road, Pevensey Road – U3135 Highlands Gardens – U3136 Archery Road and vice versa.
The Order commenced on 27 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 31 January and 31 March 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C639 Ivyhouse Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Ivyhouse Lane – from the junction with C638 Rock Lane to the junction with C639 Chowns Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C638 Rock Lane – U3246 Red Lake Terrace – A259 Rye Road, Old London Road – B2093 Old London Road, The Ridge – C639 Chowns Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 3 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 14 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Ashburnham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

The East Sussex (B2182 Cooden Drive, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Cooden Drive – from the junction with B2182 Cooden Sea Road to the junction with U6739 South Cliff Avenue.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
New England Lane – from the junction with A21(T) Whydown Hill to the junction with C22 Harts Green.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A271 Upper Horsebridge Road – B2104 London Road – C208 Hawks Road – A21(T) Whydown Hill, New Road – B2244 Tollgate Road – C22 Chapel Hill, Cottage Lane, Harts Green and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 February 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT
THE EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH HASTINGS 426)
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above Order, made on 24 January 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a public footpath as follows: A footpath with an arbitrary centreline route shown on the Order Plan between points A-B-C-D-E. Commencing at the junction of Barley Lane and public footpaths Hastings 385c, Hastings 388 and Hastings 389, at point A at TQ 8489 1141, with a width of 5.5 metres. Continuing in a south-easterly direction for 170 metres on a lane passing Fairlight Place to north of a grass area at point B at TQ 8501 1129, with a varying width of 3 to 4 metres.
Point B has a width of 3.5 metres. From there the path narrows to 1 metre continuing in a south south-easterly direction for 48 metres along the western edge of the grass area to a gravel track at Place Farm Cottages at TQ 8502 1125. The path then widens to 3.5 metres and continues for 12 metres crossing the gravel track to just before a field gate at point C at TQ 8502 1124.
From point C the path continues with a width of 1.5 metres in a west south-westerly direction, for 30 metres along a worn path to a bank above a gulley at point D at TQ 8500 1122. From there it continues south for 50 metres with a varying width of 1 to 1.5 metres, descending on to the rocky surface of the gulley at TQ 8501 1112, where it widens to 3.5 metres.
The path continues downhill in south south-easterly direction for 75 metres, with a varying width of 1 to 3 metres. It runs through a deep sided gulley over large, exposed rocks with occasional running water, before reaching the junction with public footpaths Hastings 387, Hastings 398a, Hastings 400 and Hastings 401, at the head of Fairlight Glen at point E at TQ 8503 1111. The width at E is 3 metres.
The total length of the public footpath to be added is 385 metres.

If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
