What is happening?

Somerset Council

Parishes of Stockland Bristol, Stogursey, Cannington & Otterhampton

Temporary Closure of Hinkley Point Road, Clayland Corner, Road to Hinkley Point, Withycombe Hill, Combwich Road, Roadway and Brymore Way

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along:

  • Hinkley Point Road - from the junction with Clayland Corner Farm Approach to the junction with Cock Lane;
  • Clayland Corner - from the junction with Cockwood to the junction with Clayland Corner Farm Approach;
  • Road to Hinkley Point - from the junction with Knaplock Lane to the junction with Bonson Road.
  • Withycombe Hill - from the junction with Brookside Road to the junction with Knaplock Lane;
  • Combwich Road - from the junction with Stradlings Hill to the junction with Brookside Road.
  • Roadway - from the Cannington Bypass Roundabout North to the junction with Stradlings Hill;
  • Brymore Way - from the Cannington Bypass Roundabout North to the Cannington Bypass Roundabout West.

A total distance of 6303 metres. This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The Order becomes effective on 4th February 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 10th February 2025 and last until 19th February 2025 between the hours of 19:00 - 06:00 for a total of 9 nights.
