Market Street - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(MARKET PLACE AND MARKET STREET,
POCKLINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed along the entire lengths of
Market Place and Market Street, Pocklington.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
highway and footway works (including resurfacing of
the existing carriageway and replacement of damaged
kerbs and ironwork), to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed between Thursday 13 February 2025
and Friday 21 March 2025 (hours of work will be
between 18.00 hours and 23.00 hours).
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order
is via Chapmangate, George Street, Grape Lane, Railway
Street and Regent Street. The roads will be open at
all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to
properties directly affected by the closure and for
emergency services. The Order will commence
13 February 2025 and continue in force for a period
not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
Streetscene Services, Highways Customer Care,
