What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A137 CHANCERY ROAD, WEST END ROAD AND THE B1075 PRINCES STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

  • A137 Chancery Road, Ipswich from Princes Street to West End Road

  • A137 West End Road, Ipswich from Chancery Road for 127 metres westbound

  • B1075 Princes Street, Ipswich from Burrell Road to Civic Drive

This is to facilitate crowd control during a football match. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Burrell Road, Stoke Street, Bridge Street, Greyfriars Road, Franciscan Way, Civic Drive, Handford Road, Ranelagh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/02/2025 from 1pm - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C686 THE STREET, SHIMPLING

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C686 The Street, Shimpling from 150 metres east of Halifax Place for 75 metres eastbound to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A134, Bridge Street, Aveley Lane, Mill Hill, Little Chadacre and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 12/02/2025 - 14/02/2025, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C548 CHURCH STREET AND HOCKEY HILL AND U5318 CEDARS HILL, WETHERINGSETT CUM BROCKFORD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. C548 Church Street, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford from All Saints Close for 120 metres northbound

    • C548 Church Street, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford from Hickey Hill to Bridge Cottage

    • C548 Hockey Hill, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford from Church Street to Brookfields

    • U5315 Cedars Hill, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford at the junction with Church Street

This is to facilitate:

  1. Carriageway works

  2. Repairs to a broken pipe

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

Diversion Routes:

  1. Cedars Hill, the A140, Norwich Road, Thwaite Road, High Lane, Dale Hill and vice versa.

  2. Station Road, Town Lane, the A140, Thwaite Road, High Lane, Dale Hill, Church Street and vice versa.

Closure Dates:

  • 12/02/2025 - 14/02/2025 from 9:30am - 2:30pm

  • 17/02/2025 - 21/05/2025

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

REQUEST FOR EXTENSION TO

THE SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (NEEDHAM MARKET) (FOOTPATHS 22A AND 22) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

This order, which came into effect on 01/08/2024, closing Footpath 22A, Needham Market from Footpath 39, Creeting St Mary to the south point of the railway line’s edge and Footpath 22, Needham Market from the south point of the railway line’s edge to Stowmarket Road, has been extended in force by the Minister until 01/08/2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure remains required for safety purposes whilst works on a diversionary route are completed. Without extension, the order would have been in effect until 01/02/2025.

The diversion route will be the Gipsy Lane crossing, which will remain open until the works are completed.
