What is happening?

(BUSH ROAD, CUXTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a water supply pipe to be repaired or replaced -

Bush Road Cuxton - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between across the frontage of 204 Bush Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 10 March 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 10 March 2025 and are programmed for completion within five days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

NOTICE OF INTENDED DISPOSAL OF OPEN SPACE
LAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972, SECTION 123(1), (2A)

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intends to dispose a parcel of land which is for identification purposes described in the schedule below and shown on the plan referred to in the schedule. The plan is available for inspection at the Council Offices, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham ME4 4TR by a pre-arranged appointment only or by email, property@medway.gov.uk

This is a formal notice given insofar as the above parcel of land consists or forms part of an open space within the meaning of the above Section, being used for the purposes of public recreation. Any objections to the intended disposal must be made in writing and addressed to the Head of Legal Services, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham ME4 4TR. and received no later than by midday on 28 February 2025.

Any objections will be considered by the appropriate Officers or Members of the Council.

The Schedule
Land at the Eastern End of North Dane Way, including Hall Wood Title number K739634 but excluding Land Registry title no K819730. The disposal of Hall Wood will be subject to a restrictive covenant against any future development on that land other than provision for public access arrangements as set out in Medway Planning Consent Reference MC/18/0556.

(AMENDMENT NO.24A) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF MAKING

Argyle Close, Borstal Road, Borstal Street, Canon Close, City Way, Clarence Ave, Copse Close, Cowdrey Close, Esplanade, Farmdale Ave, Manor Lane, Mount Rd, Pattens Lane, Pickwick Crescent, Radleigh Gardens, Sir Evelyn Road, Valley View Road, Wilson Ave

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council on 3 February 2025 made the above- mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 27, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general effect of the Amendment Order, which comes into operation on 10 February 2025, will be to introduce or amend lengths of No Waiting (single and double yellow lines) and restricted parking bays in roads within Rochester as detailed:

1) Argyle Close – North-west side, 5m lengths north-westwards from Wilson Ave;
2) Borstal Road – (a) North-west side, a 7m extension towards the Queen Mother Court junction and a 5m extension north-eastwards (by the pedestrian refuge),
(b) South-east side, a 23m length south-westwards from the bus stop clearway,
towards the Queen Mother Court junction;
3) Borstal Street – North-west side, (a) a 9m parking bay operating 15 minutes limited waiting, no return within 1 hour, 8am – 6pm outside Nos.22-26 (b) a 10m loading bay operating Sun, Mon, Weds & Fri 7am-10pm o/s No.140 and the Co-op store (Nos.142- 144 Borstal St);
4) Canon Close – East side, a 3m extension in front of the footpath by No.28;
5) City Way – East side, the existing 11.6m parking area opposite Nos.142-146, to operate 30 minutes limited waiting, no return within 1 hour, 9am-4pm;
6) Clarence Avenue – (a) West side, 3.1m outside No.17, (b) 6.9m across the dead (northern) end;
7) Copse Close – (a) North-west side, 7.1m south-westwards from Pattens Lane junction, (b) South-east side, 6.7m south-westwards from Pattens Lane junction;
8) Cowdrey Close – Both sides, 10m lengths north-westwards from Mount Road;
9) Esplanade – South-east side, extend the single yellow line (No waiting Mon-Sat 8am-7pm) by 9m past No.33 up to the dropped kerb at Churchfields;
10) Farmdale Avenue – Both sides, 10m south-westwards from Manor Lane junction;
11) Manor Lane – South-west side, a 123.7m extension from the existing restrictions outside No.58 north-westwards past Farmdale Ave and round the corner by No.64;
12) Mount Road – North-east side, a 13.3m length north-westwards and a 10m length south-eastwards of the junction of Cowdrey Close;
13) Pattens Lane – (a) North-east side, (i) 11.1m north-westwards and 12.9m south- eastwards from Radleigh Gdns junction, (ii) 18m opposite Copse Close junction (outside No.31 Radleigh Gdns), (iii) a 2m extension north-westwards from the MCH/ NHS site entrance, (b) South-west side, 8.6m north-westwards and 7.4m south- eastwards from Copse Close junction;

14) Pickwick Crescent – North side, a 17m extension on the bend at the front of No.39, to the drain outside No.37;
15) Radleigh Gardens – (a) North-east side, 8.6m south-eastwards from Pattens Lane junction, (b) South-east side, 8.2m north-eastwards from Pattens Lane junction;
16) Sir Evelyn Road – South-west side, an 18.7m length on the bend outside Nos.11 & 12’s;
17) Valley View Road – (a) South-west side, a 25.5m length on the bend in front of Nos.112 & 114, (b) North-east side, a 24.5m length on the bend by No.91;

18) Wilson Avenue – North-west side, 3.4m south-westwards and 10.3m north- eastwards from the junction of Argyle Close.

All representations submitted during the 21-day statutory period have been duly considered and adjustments made to proposals where appropriate. The restrictions to be implemented are required to improve road safety, access, and to manage parking/traffic more efficiently in certain locations within Medway, reducing traffic congestion on key routes to assist public services and transport in particular.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Copies of the Order and associated documents can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

(JOHN STREET, ROCHESTER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable drainage works to be carried out -

John Street, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of “Man of Kent” (6-8 John Street). Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via East Row, Maidstone Road and Hoopers Road.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 10 March 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 10 March 2025 and are programmed for completion within ten days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
