Derby City Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

Temporary road closure order on st alkmunds way off – slip mansfield road, derby

WHEN: 17 February 2025 to 19 February 2025 

WHERE: St Alkmunds Way Off-Slip, at its junction with Mansfield Road Mansfield Road, Inbound from its junction with St Alkmunds Way to its junction with Duke Street (St Marys Bridge) 

REASON: Electrical works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: St Alkmunds Way – Eastgate – The Pentagon – Sir Frank Whittle Road – Mansfield Road


Temporary Road Closure Order On Beaufort Street, Derby

WHEN: 17 February 2025 to 20 February 2025 WHERE: Beaufort Street, from its junction with Nottingham Road to its junction with Francis Street 

REASON: Gas works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Francis Street – Cornwall Road – Nottingham Road – Beaufort Street and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Maple Drive, Derby

WHEN: 17 February 2025 

WHERE: Maple Drive, from its junction with Langsett Drive, a distance of approximately 33 metres 

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Derby Road (A514) – Sutton Avenue – Maple Drive and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary Road Closure Order On Sunnyhill Avenue, Derby

WHEN: 24 February 2025 to 07 March 2025 

WHERE: Sunnyhill avenue, from No. 15 to No. 19. An approximate distance of 30 metres. 

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Stenson Road – Instow Drive – Hartland Drive – Freeman Avenue – Sunnyhill Avenue and the same in the opposite direction


Temporary One Way Road Closure Order On Malcolm Street, Derby

WHEN: 17 February 2025 to 19 February 2025

WHERE: Malcolm Street, One way (outbound) closure from its junction with Rose Hill Street to its junction with Douglas Street. 

REASON: Electrical works

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Molineux Street – Cambridge Street – Dairy House Road.


Temporary Road Closure Order On Mill Hill Lane, Derby

WHEN: 19 February 2025

WHERE: Mill Hill Lane, at its junction with Normanton Road. 

REASON: Carriageway works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Normanton Road – Burton Road – Stone Hill Road –
St Chads Road – Mill Hill Lane and the same in the opposite direction.


Temporary Road Closure Order On Field Lane Alvaston & Boulton, Derby

WHEN: 17 February 2025 to 18 February 2025 

WHERE: Field Lane, from its junction with Wilmington Avenue to its junction with Wesley Road. 

REASON: Water works 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Field Lane – Crayford Road – Field Drive – and the same in the opposite direction.

WHEN: 03 February 2025 to 12 April 2025 (Daily: 22:00 to 06:00 – Mon to Sat Overnight Only) 

WHERE: Nottingham Road, from its junction with Wiltshire Road to its junction with Acorn Way/Raynesway – closed in Phases. Phase 1: No 433 to Wiltshire Road (Approx 200 metres) Phase 2: The Crescent to No 433 Nottingham Road Phase 3: Sunny Grove to The Crescent Phase 4: Lyndhurst Grove to Sunny Grove Phase 5: Lime Grove to Lyndhurst Grove Phase 6: Lime Grove to Acorn Way/Raynesway roundabout 

REASON: Construction work 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Nottingham Road – The Pentagon – A52 Brian Clough Way – Spondon Roundabout – Derby Road and the same in the opposite direction

Derby City Council (Nightingale Quarter) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No.143) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf. The purpose of the Order will be to introduce:

No Waiting (At Any Time)
Erasmus Drive in front of numbers 3 to 37 and in the turning head adjacent to numbers 22 to 32. Florence Drive in front of numbers 2 to 10.

Saxelbye Avenue on both sides excluding the layby and its junction with Florence Drive adjacent to number 10 only.

Revoke No Waiting (At Any Time)
Florence Drive, opposite its junction with Sylvester Close.

A copy of the proposed Order together with maps which show the definitive extents of the proposal, a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for proposing the Order and the Order being amended, may be inspected online at https://www.derby.gov.uk/tro 

Objections to the proposal stating your grounds of objection should be sent, in writing, to Traffic & Transportation, Communities and Place, Derby City Council, The Council House, Corporation Street, Derby, DE1 2FS or by email to traffic.management@derby.gov.uk to be received no later than 28th February 2025.

Derby City Council (Various Minor Amendments) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No.148) Order 2024 

Derby City Council has made this Traffic Regulation Order on 30th January 2025, which comes into effect on 3rd February 2025 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf.

The purpose of the Order will be to introduce: -
Grange Street
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) from its junction with Boden Street for approximately 4m in a westerly direction

Hampshire Road
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) from its junction with Sir Frank Whittle Road (A61) for approximately 80m and from above the subway connecting Beaufort Community Primary School to the Racecourse Park on the south side for approximately 6m

Sinfin Avenue
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) from its junction with Darwin Avenue to outside no. 1 Darwin Avenue for approximately 12m, from Edmunds Vicarage for approximately 37m in a westerly direction and into Queensferry Gardens for approximately 32m

Holme Lane/Smartparc
From the south side of the Level Crossing on Station Road for approximately 132m including the junctions of Celanese Road and Main Avenue

Trowels Lane
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) to replace Limited Waiting (2 hours No Return 1 hour) (Mon - Fri 8 am - 6pm) (Permit Holder Exemption) from outside no. 36 to outside no. 28, into Grangeover Way for approximately 22m outside no. 1 and into Connaught Road approximately 15m

Moorway Lane
Proposed No Stopping (Mon - Fri 8.15 - 9.15am & 2.15 - 3.45pm) on existing School Keep Clear Markings opposite no. 35.

Stone Hill Road
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) from its junction with Empress Road approximately 8m towards Burton Road

Pioneer Way
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) from existing No Waiting (At Any Time) to end of road 

Upper Dale Road
Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time) to replace Limited Waiting (1 hour No Return Within 1 Hour) (Mon - Sat 8am - 6pm) (Permit Holder Exemptions) opposite no. 119 for approximately 5m

The proposed restriction for Balfour Road has been abandoned from the order: - Balfour Road – Proposed revocation of No Waiting (At Any Time) outside no. 114 for approximately 5m in a Westerly direction Copies of the Order and a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order, may be inspected online at https://www.derby.gov.uk/tro 

Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order on the grounds that it is outside the powers of the Acts or because it does not comply with any requirement or regulations made under it, may, within six weeks of the date of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
