Swale, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

Bagshill Road, Sheldwich, ME13 0ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bagshill Road, Sheldwich, from 10th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Parsonage Stocks Road and A251 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Throwley Road, Woodhouse Road, Throwley, Leaveland, A251 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bottom Pond Road, Rodmersham, ME9 0AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bottom Pond Road, Rodmersham, from 10th February 2025, with estimated completion by 21st February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Cheney Hill and Broadoak Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broadoak Road, Ruins Barn Road, Cromers Road, Highsted Valley and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow heavy jetting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Jubilee Street and A2 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, St Michaels Road, B2006 Crown Quay Lane, B2005 Eurolink Way, Mill Way, St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road Roundabout, Chalkwell Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dunlin Walk, Iwade. (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting pedestrians on part of Dunlin Walk, Iwade, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 28th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The footpath will be closed between number 1 Dunlin Walk and the corner where Dunlin Walk/ Sanderling Way junctions meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for pedestrians is via Dunlin Walk, Sanderling Way and vice versa.

 

Glovers Crescent, Sittingbourne, ME10 4DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Glovers Crescent, Sittingbourne, from 10th February 2025, with estimated completion by 14th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bell Road.

 

Horn Hill, Milstead. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Horn Hill, Milstead, from 12th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Rawling Street and Bottom Pond Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bottom Pond Road, Gossy Hill Road, The Street, Torry Hill Road, Milstead, Frinstead Road, Rawling Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Park Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Park Road, Sittingbourne, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 204, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albany Road, Avenue Of Remembrance, Bell Road, Gore Court Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Place Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7TG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Place Lane, Hartlip, from 12th February 2025, with estimated completion by 14th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Mill Lane, A2 London Road, Spade Lane, Meresborough Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Warden Road, Eastchurch, ME12 4EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warden Road, Eastchurch, from 11th February 2025, with estimated completion by 15th February 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rides House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Bobbing & Borden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PARKING, TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION & TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NO ENTRY) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow the Key Street Junction Scheme to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Bobbing & Borden.

This order takes effect on or after 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2026, or where stated on a valid permits. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on one.network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

Works Schedule

Sheppey Way, Bobbing

A temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed on Sheppey Way between the 50 mph permanent signage and A2 Key Street Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Sheppey Way will be closed between the A2 Key Street Roundabout and the access point for the Premier Inn, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bobbing Interchange (Roundabout), B2006 Staplehurst Road, Chalkwell Road, A2 London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout and vice versa.

Bobbing Hill, Bobbing

Bobbing Hill will be closed between the A2 Key Street Roundabout and number 2 Bobbing Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Key Street Roundabout, Keycol Hill, Hill Farm View, Rook Lane, Cold Harbour Lane and vice versa.

A temporary one-way order will be put in place where traffic will be prohibited from travelling northbound.

Old Maidstone Road, Borden

Old Maidstone Road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

The no entry restriction on this road will be suspended to allow access for the duration of these works.

Chestnut Street, Borden

Chestnut Street will be closed between the A2 Key Street Roundabout and the junction with School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Maidstone Road, Maidstone Road Link, Oad Street, Pond Farm Road, The Street, Borden Lane, A2 London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout and vice versa.

A temporary one-way order will be put in place where traffic will be prohibited from travelling southwest and northeast. This will be implemented in both directions when required.

When vehicles are prohibited from travellling southwest, the alternative route is via A2 Key Street Roundabout, Key Street, London Road, Borden Lane, The Street, Pond Farm Road, Oad Street, Maidstone Link Road and Maidstone Road.

When vehicles are prohibited from travelling northeast the alternative route is via Maidstone Road, Maidstone Road Link, Oad Street, Pond Farm Road, The Street, Borden Lane, A2 London Road, Key Street and Key Street Roundabout.

No waiting/stopping restrictions will be implemented on both sides of the road between A2 Key Street Roundabout and the new development roundabout.

 

Various Roads, Sittingbourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow junction improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Sittingbourne, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 31st January 2026, or until the works have been completed.

WORKS SCHEDULE

The below closures will be restrictions on vehicles and pedestrians:-

B2005 Grovehurst Road, Sittingbourne

The road will be closed in phases as follows:-

Phase A

The road will be closed between Bramblefield Lane and Swale Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Grovehurst Road, Saffron Way, Mill Way, B2006 King Street, St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road, Bobbing Interchange, A249 and vice versa.

Phase B

The road will be closed between Swale Way and Coromorant Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via A249, Kingsferry Roundabout, Sheppey Way, The Street, Ferry Road and vice versa.

B2005 Swale Way, Sittingbourne

The road will be closed between Grovehurst Road and Lloyd Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles is via B2005 Swale Way, Castle Road, Eurolink Way, Crown Quay Lane, B2006 Eurolink Way, Mill Way, St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road, Bobbing Interchange, A249, Grovehurst Road and vice versa.

Speed Restrictions

B2005 Grovehurst Road, Sittingbourne

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction will be in place between Bramblefield Lane and Swale Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2005 Swale Way, Sittingbourne

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction will be in place between Grovehurst Road and Lloyd Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Prohibition of right/left turns

Vehicles will be prohibited from turning left/right from B2005 Swale Way into the Nicholls Transport entrance.
