Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 05 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of; (a) Longdene Road (D5523) Haslemere. Alternative Route: (1) (B2131) Lower Street, (A286) Lower Street, (A286) High Street, (A286) Lower Street, (A286) Shepherds Hill, and Courts Hill Road; (2) Courts Hill Road, (A286) Shepherds Hill, and (B2131) Lower Street; (b) that length of Burnt Hill Road (D5300) Farnham as extends from its junction with (B3384) Shortheath Road to its junction with (D5312) Longhope Drive. Alternative Route: (B3384) Shortheath Road, (B3384) Ridgway Road, (A287) Frensham Road, and Burnt Hill Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of OnSite Central LTD.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 8pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 February 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For Part (a) Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. For Part (b) Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/ or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2025
On 05 February 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to: (1) Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice and (2) Suspend “The Urban District of Farnham (Various Streets) (One-Way and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 1967” or any Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the lengths of roads described in the schedule of this Notice.
This Order is required to facilitate improvement schemes for the Town Centre works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as night works, Monday to Friday only, and will begin as soon possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 February 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. For Parts (a, b, and c): Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained via the marshals on site at night.
There will be no access for residents and businesses while works are in place so will be required to follow the diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. For Parts (d, e, f, and g): Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Alternative Route: (1) (B3228) West Street, (A31) Coxbridge Roundabout, (A31) Farnham By-Pass, and (B3001) South Street; (2) (B3228) West Street, (A31) Coxbridge Roundabout, (A31) Farnham By-Pass, (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout, (B3228) Guildford Road, (B3228) East Street, (B3228) Dogflud Way, and (B3228) East Street; (3) (B3228) Bear Lane, (B3228) Woolmead, (B3228) East Street, (B3228) Guildford Road, (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout,(A325) Farnborough Road, (A325) Hale Roundabout, (A325) Hale Road, (A3016) Upper Hale Road, (A3016) Folly Hill, (A287) Folly Hill, (A287) Castle Hill, and (A287) Castle Street.
