What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

A252 Canterbury Road, Molash. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow overhead connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A252 Canterbury Road, Molash, from 27th February 2025, with estimated completion by 28th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Maple Barn to the vicinity of Tower Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for A252 Canterbury Road is via A252 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, Faversham Road, A251 Buck Street, A252 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for Knockwood Lane eastbound is via Knockwood Lane, Shottenden Road, Solehill Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for Knockwood Lane westbound is via Knockwood Lane, Shottenden Road, Ashford Road, A251 and vice versa.

 

Boldshaves Lane, Woodchurch, TN26 3QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Boldshaves Lane, Woodchurch, from 11th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Redbrook Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Redbrook Street, Bethersden Road, Susans Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Brook Street, Woodchurch. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brook Street, Woodchurch, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Berridge Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Brook Street, Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane Junction With B2067 To D1291 Junction With D1305 11 Acre Wood Lane, A2070 Ashford Road, Ashford Road Junction With Bypass Link Road To Hamstreet, A2070 From J A2070/B2080 Roundabout To J A2042, Hamstreet Bypass, A2070 From Ashford Road To District Boundary, A2070 Rhee Wall To Ashford Road, A259 J A2070/B2080 Roundabout, B2080 Rhee Wall Roundabout, Rhee Wall, Brenzett Corner Roundabout, Rhee Wall Road, Station Road, The Street, Tenterden Road, Reading Street, Appledore Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cherry Glebe, Mersham, TN25 6NP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cherry Glebe, Mersham, from 13th February 2025, with estimated completion by 17th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 4 and 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Lane, Aldington & A20 Hythe Road, Smeeth. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Church Lane, Aldington & A20 Hythe Road, Smeeth, from 10th February 2025, with estimated completion by 28th March 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Church Lane, Aldington & A20 Hythe Road, Smeeth will be imposed between the Welsh Power Grid Site on Church Lane and outside Brindles on A20 Hythe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

East Hill, Tenterden, TN30 6RF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of East Hill, Tenterden, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 28th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Limes and number 13, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Appledore Road, Golden Square, East Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Flood Street, Mersham, TN25 7HF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Flood Street, Mersham, from 25th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Stonegreen Hall Farm Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bank Road, Roman Road, Goldwell Lane, Station Road, A20 Hythe Road, The Street, Oaklands, Bower Road, Church Road, Flood Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Forge Lane, Ashford, TN23 1JZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow traffic light replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Forge Lane, Ashford, from 13th February 2025, for up to one night, between the hours of 19:30 and 23:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A292 New Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Somerset Road, Wellesley Road, Station Road, Elwick Road, Godinton Road and West Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Halden Road, Biddenden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road, Biddenden, from 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stede Court Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Halden Road, High Halden Road From Pb To Pb (known as Pot Kiln Lane) Pot Kiln Lane, Smarden Road, Bethersden Road, Biddenden Road, The Cut, Smarden Road, A274 Headcorn Road, North Street, A262 Tenderden Road, High Halden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mock Lane, Great Chart, TN23 3AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mock Lane, Great Chart, from 12th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Brett Concrete, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Singleton Hill, Tithe Barn Lane, A28 Great Chart Bypass, Chilmington Green Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Mystole Lane, Chilham, CT4 8EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mystole Lane, Chilham, from 23:15 hours on 24th February 2025, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 25th February 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of the Chilham Road level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, Shalmsford Street, Chartham Downs Road, Mystole Lane, Pickelden Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

New Road Hill, Bonnington. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Road Hill, Bonnington, from 28th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Cherry Orchard Lane and B2067 Bonnington Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Orchard Lane, Boat Lane, B2067 Bonnington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Pluckley Road, Charing. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Charing, from 24th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Charing Heath Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Cades Road, School Road, West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, Charing Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Redbrook Street, High Halden, TN26 3QU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Redbrook Street, High Halden, from 24th February 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Plurenden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Redbrook Street, Bethersden Road, Plurenden Road, Redbrook Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Stanhope Road, Stanhope, TN23 5EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow concrete rehabilitation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Stanhope Road, Stanhope, from 10th February 2025, with estimated completion by 31st March 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in phases, for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stanhope Road (following the ring road in the opposite direction of where the works are located).

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Ridgeway, Smeeth, TN25 6SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER FEBRUARY 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Ridgeway, Smeeth, from 25th February 2025, with estimated completion by 26th February 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Vine Cottage and Park Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Ridgeway, A20 Hythe Road, Church Road and The Ridgeway.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
