Cumnock Road And North Street - Temporary Road Closure For Upgrade Gas Main

What is happening?

Parish of Castle Cary Temporary Closure of Cumnock Road and North Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Cumnock Road - from the junction with North Street, north-westwards for a distance of 99 metres; and North Street - from the junction with Cumnock Street, south-westwards for a distance of 71 metres. A total distance of 170 metres. 

This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to upgrade gas main.

The Order becomes effective on 13th February 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. 

The works are expected to commence on 17th February2025 and last until 23rd February 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 7 days.
