What is happening?

Parish of Chard Town Temporary Closure of Russell Pope Avenue

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Russell Pope Avenue - from the junction with Henderson Drive, southwards for a total distance of 42 metres. 

This Order will enable Heidelberg to carry out patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The Order becomes effective on 30th January 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. 

The works are expected to commence on 5th February 2025 and last until 6th February 2025 between the hours of 07:30 - 18:00 for a total of 2 days. 

There is no alternative route for this closure. 

The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
