(SRU SIX NATIONS TESTS @ MURRAYFIELD) 

(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/14

The Council has made an order under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate the safe ingress and egress of spectators from Murrayfield, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the roads specified in Sch 1, where prohibitions apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; (b) walk or cause or permit any person to walk on the footways described in Sch 2; (c) drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of roads specified in column 1 of Sch 3, otherwise than in the direction specified in column 2 of Sch 3; (d) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the roads described in Sch 4, where prohibitions apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; & (e) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the road described in column 1 of Sch 5 so as to make the prohibited turn specified in column 2 of Sch 5, into the road specified in column 3 of Sch 5. The Greenways Order 1997 will be suspended during the hours specified in the Schedules on any of the affected sections of roads described. Existing restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 4. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via Ellersly Rd, Murrayfield Rd, Ravelston Dykes and then Belford Rd, Douglas Gdns & Palmerston Pl; or Queensferry Ter, Queensferry Rd & Queensferry St; & Westfield Rd, Gorgie Rd, Dalry Rd, Henderson Ter & Dundee St. Pedestrian access will be maintained on all roads, except in Sch 2. The order shall have effect during the hours and on the dates specified in the Schedules. SCHEDULE 2 pROHIBITION OF pEDESTRIaNS: from 15:15hrs to 18:15hrs on 1/2/25; from 16:00hrs to 19:00hrs on 9/2/25; & from 17:45hrs to 20:45hrs on 8/3/25 on: Balbirnie pl: (i) from the south-west gable end of No. 50, south-eastwards for 20m; & (ii) the north-eastern footway, from the south-west gable end of No. 50, north-westwards for 30m.
